✨ Every business that captures your heart usually begins with a story. And ours starts in a tiny rural village in Surapur, Punjab.
At just 12 years old, Daljit Singh found joy helping his parents at their little street food stall. Cooking wasn’t just food — it was family, community, and love.
In 2011, Daljit arrived in the UK with nothing more than belief and a dream. From a student in Wales ➝ to being headhunted in London ➝ to becoming Head Chef in Leeds within months, he poured his soul into every dish. His talent took him to some of the UK’s most iconic Indian restaurants, even alongside Michelin-star chef Alfred Prasad. 🌟
But his real dream? Something of his own. Something that carried the heart of Punjab, the same heart he discovered as a boy beside his parents’ stall. ❤️
With his partner Regina, who left her banking career to stand beside him, they started a humble takeaway in 2021. By June 2022, that dream became Punjabi Heaven – Indian Street Food in Roundhay, Leeds.
It hasn’t been easy. From long nights to Covid struggles, Daljit’s journey has been filled with challenges. But here’s the truth: when your business is built from your history, your passion, and your gifts, you always find a way to steer it forward.
And that’s why Punjabi Heaven is more than just food. It’s Daljit’s story. It’s love on a plate. It’s proof that flaws, resilience, and heart are what make us human — and what make food taste like home. 🍲✨
So come, taste the story.
