Special shout out to all our performers who gave their time free of charge, our compères Roy Coombes Vintage Singer and Jennifer Parker-Lummis Soprano, Max and Dave our sound and lighting engineers, and all our fantastic volunteers.

After many years of trying to get them for Summer in Lee 🎶 we’re pleased to announce that The Locksmiths will be our Headline Band on Saturday 22nd on The Smile Stage starting at 8pm.

The Locksmiths are your local band who like to have a party, and guarentee you will too! Non-stop bangers from the last 50 years - so if you like a bit of Rock and Roll, some 80’s pop, a bit of Indie, or are a Swifty, they’ve got it for you.

After The Locksmiths the party will continue as Beats on the Beach takes us through to a close at 11pm; come and join us as it’s going go to one night of awesome tunes down on the seafront of Lee on the Solent.

🎶 BEATS ON THE BEACH RETURNS 🎶

I’m pleased to announce that Beats on the Beach will be returning as part of the 10th Anniversary of Summer in Lee — and this year it’s bigger than ever, taking place on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Following last year’s fantastic response, DJ
Damon White will once again be bringing his decks to Lee on the Solent seafront promenade on The Smile Stage with another selection of dance floor favourites and summer anthems.

With the announcement yesterday of the People’s Air Display on Saturday 22 August, Summer in Lee is shaping up to be a memorable anniversary celebration for the whole community.

Join us by the seafront for great music, great atmosphere and a fantastic summer weekend.

Announcement

This August marks the 10th anniversary of Summer in Lee.

What started in 2016 as the Music & Festival, created by our dear friend Trevor Ricketts, has grown in to a community’s favourite summer events. Trevor sadly passed away two years ago, but his legacy continues through the now Summer in Lee.

For 2026, all the popular attractions return, including:

⭐️ Summer Pirates & Pirates Disco
⭐️ The Smile Stage and live music
⭐️ The Smile Emporium
⭐️ Kids Zone
⭐️ Food and drink vendors
⭐️ Beats on the Beach

To mark this special anniversary, we are introducing the People’s Air Display on Saturday 22 August from 12 noon, featuring aircraft displaying over the Solent including:

✈️ Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota
✈️ Spitfire
✈️ SIAI-Marchetti
✈️ Seafire
✈️ Gazelles Two-Ship Display
✈️ Wingwalkers Two-Ship Display

To help deliver the People’s Air Display, we are asking for support from the public and local businesses. The cost of an air display extends far beyond the aircraft themselves and includes airspace management with Solent Airport, CAA permissions, insurance, the Flying Display Director, commentary and operational delivery.

To help make this happen, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign and would be grateful for any contribution, large or small - as an individual or as a business.

Our ambition is to see the People’s Air Display become a regular feature of Summer in Lee and continue to grow in future years.
