Sad day today for us. Sometimes the corporate world stinks. Sometimes a shirt and tie is not always the best way to go about doing business. I have worked tirelessly to keep this cafe going and make it the success it is today. We look after many local people throughout each month and support a lot of charities. We donate what we can and feed those who need it the most. And let me be crystal clear this cafe does not make big money. We run this because we care about the community and it meets with our core business values.

I have no idea what this stupid tender will bring but all I know is before we took this cafe over there was no love and light here.

We need to gather momentum somehow. Not sure how but if anyone has any suggestions it will be gracefully and humbly received. Mel and the Lavender Family ###

Hey everyone,
Just a quick update after the news broke that Leatherhead Leisure Centre is putting the catering contract out to tender, with a decision due by the end of the year.
We at Lavender Café are as surprised as you are by the announcement—and yes, we’re weighing up our options about whether to stay, or move on. We want to be crystal clear: We have done nothing wrong here.
We’ve always prided ourselves on preparing you our very own home cooked food, whilst getting to know you, and we’re genuinely upset that this decision made by the Leisure Centre has caused you confusion and concern.
Rest assured, we will be considering every option possible on whether we will be bidding for the contract, because we’d love nothing more than to keep serving your favourite meal deal, coffee, or snack. We’re just as keen as you are to see how this all plays out, and we promise to keep you in the loop every step of the way.
Thanks so much for your support, patience, and understanding - it means the world to us! If you have any questions or just want to chat, pop in, or give us a shout.

The Lavender Catering group is very happy to be supporting this wonderful charity - one location nestled in the Surrey Hills. If you or someone you know has a young adult desperate to find their right lane this charity will certainly try and help support them to get them there. Taking on ‘sofa surfers’ and those who are desperate to try and make a better life The Amber Charity aims to step in on almost every level. We have pledged to give every time a client books us which hopefully will make the small acorn eventually grow into a strong oak tree. Corporate lunch today for a bunch of business travellers. Our bowl food seemed the perfect choice as the schedule was tight. We offered two types - our Mediterranean Chicken with fresh basil, torn mozzarella and fresh Parmesan or our spring/summer Cesar Salad loaded with baby tomato, olive, farm egg, croutons and crispy bacon. It’s always a pleasure when we get asked to feed very special VIP’s searching for their next thrill and adventure. It’s even more of a pleasure when you get to meet some of our greatest sports hero’s in the speed arena. Breakfast first then followed later by lunch with some of our delicious bowl food creations and ending with bite size bombs of sweetness. 🌸💓🌸

Wow!!!! What a weekend…. A few thousand strong energetic positive and motivated individuals visited Leatherhead Leisure Centre this weekend to join in all the ‘Festival Fun’. Dancing, flipping, rolling, running and having the best time ever. A fantastic event run by lovely people and it was our pleasure to feed and refresh everyone. The Lavender team did not stop all weekend but we nailed it so a massive clap to everyone who worked tirelessly! Bones aching today but so worth feeding such an amazing festival of people. Well done to the organisers, the athletes and the ground team at the centre!

Today we are celebrating International Women’s Day at the stunning Albury Vineyard nestled in the Surrey Hills. A brilliant venue to host a corporate event bringing warmth and happiness together whilst enjoying our canapés and tasting the flavours lovingly grown and bottled at the amazing vineyard. Guests tasted the fruits of the vines as the team at Albury spoke about the vineyard, the background and how they have managed to become one of UK’s best British vineyards. Being aware of todays allergens are critical to any food business. Here at Lavender Catering and our cafe we believe that this is a number one priority to keep our customers safe. At the cafe we have QR coding on all our freshly made food that leads you directly to our live allergen matrix on line, our till prompts the staff to make the purchaser aware of the allergens such as nuts in pesto, and we do our very best not to cross contaminate as much as possible. Natasha’s Law aims to protect food allergy sufferers by giving them security about the food you purchase following the tragic death of the young teenager who lost their life due to eating a baguette in Pret that contained sesame seeds. Today we met with campaigner Paul Maung Maung who together we will be working closer to provide better information to the catering community nationally to insure better protocol is in place for those who do suffer from poor allergy management. Paul has been tirelessly campaigning, running marathons and visiting hundreds of food establishments to offer better awareness. We whole heartedly support this campaign and it is with great hope that together we can make buying a meal out safer for anyone with an allergy.

Managed to book a table at this fantastic restaurant in the Isle of Wight. Highly recommend if you are visiting. Book early to avoid disappointment. Focaccia with artisan butters, luxury prawn cocktail, prosciutto and figs, Honey Hallumi followed by steak, duck and beautifully cooked salmon. Too full for dessert. We all gave this restaurant 5 stars all day long! Yum!!

And that’s a wrap…..! What a fabulous busy year for the Lavender Team Family. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful bunch of hard working people in our catering family. Last night we got looked after which was lovely. We all sparkled up, enjoyed some great food and danced our socks off. So that’s it for 2024. have a great Christmas and see you all in 2025….Team Lavender. 💓🌸💓
