There’s something rather special about a summer day at Tyrrells Wood... beautiful surroundings, great company, a brilliant course and, of course, our stunning clubhouse terrace waiting for you afterwards. 🍻🌳

Congratulations, Max! 💙⛳

Last Wednesday, one of our outstanding young members, Max Lowrey, took on an incredible 72-hole golf challenge in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

Starting at 5:00am and playing throughout the day in scorching temperatures, Max showed remarkable determination, resilience and spirit to complete this amazing challenge. It was wonderful to see so many members and friends out on the course cheering him on and showing their support along the way.

Max took on this challenge to raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK following his father's devastating diagnosis, making his achievement all the more inspiring.

From everyone at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club, we want to say a huge well done, Max. You should be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished. Your courage and commitment are an inspiration, and we're honoured to have you as part of our club.

🏆 Congratulations to our 2026 Junior Club Champion, Aiden Cheeseman! 🏆

A fantastic day of golf at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club saw our talented juniors compete in the Junior Club Championship, with an outstanding performance from our Junior Captain, Aiden Cheeseman, who claimed the title with a two-round total of 147.

Aiden's opening round of 70 (-1 under par) was a superb display of golf and set the foundation for a well-deserved victory.

🏅 Top 3 Results🥇 1st – Aiden Cheeseman – 70, 77 – 147
🥈 2nd – Ethan Orpin – 69, 79 – 148
🥉 3rd – Leo Kwon – 79, 86 – 165

The trophy was presented by former Men's Captain Ian Gale

Congratulations to Aiden on a magnificent achievement, and well played to every junior who took part. The future of golf at Tyrrells Wood is looking incredibly bright, and we're proud of the dedication, sportsmanship and talent shown by all our young competitors.

A bird’s-eye view of Tyrrells Wood’s inviting yet demanding 3rd hole, captured beautifully by specialist course photographer Kevin Murray. 📸

At 294 yards from the white tees and 237 yards from the red tees, this short par 4 may tempt the longer hitters, but with a fairway sloping right to left and bunkers guarding the green, position is everything. For most, a well-placed iron from the tee sets up the ideal wedge approach. 🎯

Behind the green, Course Manager Lewis Whybrow and the greenkeeping team have done excellent work clearing and restoring the previous wooded area. The improved airflow will help maintain the quality and health of this important putting surface...another example of the careful work that goes on behind the scenes to keep the course at its best. 🌱

After a frustrating draw with Ghana earlier this week, the Three Lions will be looking to bounce back with a big performance and take a giant step towards the knockout stages.

🏌️‍♀️ Another exciting weekend awaits at Tyrrells Wood as our Women’s Club Championship and Graduation Cup get underway tomorrow!

Over two days of competitive golf, our talented ladies will take on 36 holes of stroke play in pursuit of some of the club’s most prestigious honours.

The Women’s Club Champion will be crowned and awarded the historic Gordon Cup, first presented in 1954, while players in Divisions 2 and 3 will compete for the Graduation Cup. There is also the Handicap Trophy up for grabs, recognising the best net performance over the championship.

With skill, determination and endurance required across both days, we wish all competitors the very best of luck and look forward to seeing who will etch their name into Tyrrells Wood history.

Who will be lifting the trophies on Sunday afternoon? 🏆
