🏌️♂️ 72 Holes. One Day. One Incredible Cause.
Last Thursday, our very own Alfred Duke took on an extraordinary challenge by completing 72 holes in a single day to raise money for Brainstrust, in honour of his brother.
From glow sticks at sunrise to finishing the final putt under the stars, Alfred showed unbelievable dedication, grit, and heart throughout his 12-hour marathon.
We’re thrilled to share that he’s already raised over £6,000 for this incredible charity, an outstanding achievement and a true inspiration to us all at Tyrrells Wood. 👏

🌅 Before dawn, the magic happens.
While most of us are still asleep, our Tyrrells Wood green-keeping team are already hard at work, fine-tuning every green, fairway, and bunker to perfection. 😅
This video captured by Course Manager, Lewis Whybrow, shows the team in perfect synchronisation; working under spotlights in the early morning darkness. Their dedication and precision are what keep our course in such outstanding condition, even at this time of year. 🍂

Today’s the day when our brilliant staff take on our members in a fun yet fiercely competitive mixed match always played in the very best spirits and full of laughs along the way! 😄
It’s one of the highlights of the year and a great chance for everyone to enjoy the course together, share a few friendly rivalries, and celebrate what makes Tyrrells Wood such a special club.

🏆 Champion of Champions 2025 – Ben Frost! 🏆
Huge congratulations to Ben Frost, winner of this year’s Peter Earle Masters at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club! 👏
Playing in the final group, Ben kept his cool right to the end...carding an impressive nett 68 to clinch victory on countback from Adrian Stuart, who had earlier set the pace with a superb gross 69.
The Peter Earle Masters, first presented in 1979, crowns our Champion of Champions so Ben joins an illustrious list of winners. 🏆
Well played to all our qualifiers who took part and made it another fantastic year of golf at Tyrrells Wood!

Tomorrow, this year's competition winners from our club come together to compete for the Peter Earle Masters 2025 Bowl, the ultimate Champion of Champions!
After qualifying through knockouts and Medals in events like The Monthly Medals, The Blades Cup, The Scottorn Cup, The Scratch Knockout, and many more, the contenders are ready to battle it out in an 18 Hole stroke play competition.
It’s anyone’s game but who will rise above the rest to claim the Peter Earle Masters title and join a proud history dating back to 1979?

Yesterday we hosted our Club Finals Day, the grand finale of the Summer Knockout competitions and what a day it was! The course was in immaculate condition, providing the perfect stage for our finalists to showcase their skills. 🌿⛳️

🌟 Tomorrow we are proud to welcome the second annual Kiyan Prince Foundation Golf Day to Tyrrells Wood, organised by our friends at Echo Sixty One Events and with the support of Headline Sponsor OakNorth.
This special event brings together a host of celebrity supporters for a memorable day on the course all in aid of raising vital funds for the Kiyan Prince Foundation (KPF), whose mission is to empower young people and help reduce youth violence and knife crime.
Throughout the day, guests can look forward to:

When Tyrrells Wood Golf Club was formed in 1924, the original course had been designed by five times Open Champion James Braid, one of the most respected and prolific course designers of his day. Improvements were also designed by Harry C**t.
Although the course has undergone continuous improvement over the years, care has been taken to preserve Braid's unique approach to green and bunker design. More detailed information is given in our history pages.
Tyrrells Wood is located on the edge of the North Downs and in common with much of the area has a chalk subsoil, which provides extremely good drainage. The typical downland nature of the area was transformed by the substantial tree planting programme implemented in the late 19th century, to provide a unique downland/parkland character.
The club is continually re-investing to ensure we maintain the excellent conditions of the course and the superb standards of the club house. Most recently we replaced the irrigation system, whereby we now have a state of the art system covering tees, greens and approaches.
There are few finer places in Surrey to play golf among the specimen trees which frame magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
The course, which benefits from two starts, is a tough challenge of golf but rewards those golfers who are able to plot their way around a course that is renowned for quick & undulating greens.
