We will be heading to St Mary Magdalene Church this afternoon to get everything set up, ready for doors opening at 7pm!

Remembering back to the amazing Hitchin Folk Club I grew up in and the immensely positive impact it had on my life and the lives of countless others, I was simultaneously drawn to do it and doubtful about my ability to do so.
With the encouragement of several key people in my life, I tentatively stepped forward and began to plan a launch event.

Three years on and we are still here - it has been a huge learning curve both challenging and rewarding in equal measure, yet I wouldn't change it for the world.

I never imagined in a million years that we would have the absolute pleasure of hosting some of the most impactful, inspiring, and important musicians of our time, and this year on the exact day of our 3rd birthday, we have yet another legend and another favourite - one of the country's most celebrated voices, in one of the town's most beautiful buildingsโ€ฆ..

For those who don't already know him, meet Steve Knightley, founding member of Show of Hands alongside Phil B**r, three-time BBC Folk Award winner, Honorary Doctor of Music, 4,000+ performances, fifty-plus Glastonbury appearances and many more accolades besides. On the 23rd of September he brings his stripped-back 'Sanctuary - songs in sacred spaces' show to Launceston's St Mary Magdalene Church with Daniel Salvatore on the handpan. We've seen him play several times throughout this year already and so excited to be bringing him here to our very own doorstep! ๐Ÿ˜
