✨ MEET THE TEAM — CHLOE ✨

With 10 years of hospitality experience, Chloe started out behind the bar at a young age and quickly found herself progressing within the industry. She’s always loved the fast pace, atmosphere and energy that comes with hospitality, but most of all, meeting new people, having a chat and making friendships along the way. 🥂

She started helping out behind the bar at Old Oak Farm at the end of last year, thinking it would be temporary… safe to say, that didn’t last long! 😂

After getting involved with a few weddings and enjoying the variety that came with working at Old Oak Farm, she officially joined the team in January, making her one of the newest members of the Old Oak Farm team — but that certainly hasn’t stopped her from getting stuck in!

Since then, she’s become our Bar Manager, while also learning the ins and outs of the wedding planning process from Rebecca. She’s now one of the friendly faces behind the emails, carries out the other half of our venue visits alongside Andy, and works closely with Rebecca day-to-day to help bring each wedding together — and when she’s not doing all of that, you’ll probably find her being chauffeured around by Mabel in the golf buggy! 🛺😂

From the very beginning, Chloe just felt like she fitted in. The team, the atmosphere and the people behind the scenes made it feel like such a natural place to be — and she knew pretty quickly that she’d found her place at Old Oak Farm. 🤍🌿

We’re so happy she’s part of the team! ✨

✨MEET THE TEAM — VICKY✨

Vicky’s story at Old Oak Farm is one that’s full of friendship, family and plenty of pizza! 🤍

Vicky has known Rebecca since they were children, but the pair became particularly good friends when they both had their first children, Alfie and Sienna — who have now grown up and both work here at Old Oak Farm too!

Before weddings had even commenced at Old Oak Farm, Vicky helped Rebecca at a wedding she was coordinating. After accidentally spilling Prosecco over the top table, Rebecca must have seen something in her… because thankfully, she invited her back! 😂🥂

Around 12 years ago, Vicky started working in the little porta cabin kitchen alongside Helen, initially washing up and waitressing. But it didn’t take long for her to discover that she really enjoyed the chefing side of things. She gradually began working more closely alongside Helen and eventually became her Sous Chef. 👩‍🍳

She’s also no stranger to the hard graft behind the scenes, having helped with everything from packing down to putting up the marquee!

These days, Vicky works alongside Maxine as her Sous Chef, and she says they make a great team — something we’d definitely agree with! 🤍

And then there’s the pizza… 🍕

Vicky is our evening pizza queen and, with roughly 98% of our weddings featuring pizza, she has cooked her way through well over 7,500 pizzas! 🍕🔥

From washing up in the porta cabin to becoming a key part of our kitchen team, it’s safe to say Vicky has come a long way — and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the Old Oak Farm family. 🤍

✨ Meet Mandy ✨

Rebecca’s mum and one of the familiar faces behind the scenes here at Old Oak Farm! 🤍

Mandy’s connection with Old Oak Farm goes back much further than just being part of the team. In fact, it goes all the way back to her childhood, when she lived on Back Lane, right next door to Andy's family’s farm.

Growing up, Mandy spent plenty of time at the farm — from bonfire nights and making dens in the hay barn, to climbing trees and playing cricket with Andy's dad, uncle and grandad. So, in many ways, Old Oak Farm has always been part of her story! 🌳🔥

After leaving school and college, Mandy worked for a finance company in Taunton before starting a family in 1988. She and her husband then renovated an old cottage just outside the village, with a helping hand from her dad, who was a general builder! 🏡

Once her three children started school, Mandy began working at the school too, mainly for the convenience of having the same holidays as the children. What started as a practical decision turned into 26 years working in the school office!

In 2023, Mandy decided it was finally time to retire from a busy school environment… or so she thought! 😂

Rebecca offered her a little job at Old Oak Farm to keep her busy — and somehow that little job turned into working just as hard, this time in her role as part of our housekeeping team!

At least she gets her steps in! 👟😂

Mandy loves keeping busy and, most importantly, spending time with her family. And we’re very lucky to have her as part of ours here at Old Oak Farm. 🤍

So, from childhood dens in the hay barn to keeping our venue looking its best today, Mandy’s connection with Old Oak Farm really has come full circle! ✨

✨ MEET THE TEAM | MAXINE ✨
Behind every wedding at Old Oak Farm is a team of people who put their heart into making each celebration special, and today we’d love to introduce you to one of the people at the heart of our kitchen — our Head Chef, Maxine. 🤍
Maxine’s love of cooking began long before Old Oak Farm. It was a natural talent she inherited from her late grandmother, and it was that passion which inspired her to turn cooking into a career.

After leaving school in 1977, Maxine went on to study at Bath College, gaining her basic and advanced cookery qualifications before completing a Higher National Diploma in Hotel & Catering Management. Alongside her studies, she was already gaining valuable experience in the industry, working as a Sous Chef at Charlton House Hotel in Shepton Mallet.

From there, Maxine’s career continued to grow, taking her through a number of Head Chef positions before moving into catering management in 1995. She went on to work for Somerset County Council at Dillington House, became an Area Manager for a time, and later worked as Catering Manager at Yeovil Hospital.
In 2005, Maxine decided to take a new direction and become a freelance chef, undertaking a variety of specialist catering work — and it was during this chapter that her story first crossed paths with ours.

In 2011, Maxine catered for Rebecca and Andy’s wedding, which became the very first wedding ever held at Old Oak Farm. 🤍
She continued to work as a freelance chef over the years, returning to Old Oak Farm to cater for some of our events, until in 2021 she officially joined us as our Head Chef — something she describes as her dream job.

Since then, Maxine has become such a special part of the Old Oak Farm family. One of the most memorable moments of her journey with us came when she had the privilege of cooking for Rebecca and Andy’s vow renewal — a particularly special celebration as it marked the 100th wedding hosted at Old Oak Farm.
Having known Rebecca and Andy for many years, after first being introduced through Andy’s mum and Maxine’s good friend, Maria, her connection with Old Oak Farm has always been about more than simply work.
And perhaps that’s what makes Maxine such a treasured part of our team. ❤️

"Old Oak Farm is much more than a job to me. It is a big happy family with a fantastic team, where everyone pulls together regardless of their position."
From the very first wedding here, to our 100th and every celebration in between, we feel incredibly lucky that Maxine has been part of our story — and even luckier that she continues to be such a big part of it today. 🥂🤍

Maxine — our Head Chef, our foodie extraordinaire, and a very special member of the Old Oak Farm family. ✨

✨ Meet the Couple | Andy & Rebecca ✨

As we celebrate 15 years of Old Oak Farm this week, it feels only right that we start our Meet the Team series with the two people who started it all! 🤍

Some of our team have been with us right from the very beginning, while others have joined us along the way — but before there was a team, there was Andy & Rebecca… and a marquee in a field! 🌿

So, to kick off our 15-year celebrations, let’s introduce you to the husband-and-wife team behind Old Oak Farm.
Meet Andy & Rebecca — the owners, the founders and, in many ways, the perfect example of chalk and cheese! 😂
Their journey with Old Oak Farm began in 2011, following their own wedding here on the farm. What started with a marquee, a wedding and an idea has grown over the past 15 years into the venue you see today.
But the pair bring very different things to the table…

🌿 Meet Andy
Andy’s connection to Old Oak Farm goes back much further than the wedding venue itself. Although he didn’t leave school to work on this farm, he spent a lot of his childhood here with his Grandad, back when it was still a working farm — so the land and farming have always been a big part of his life.
When Andy left school at just 15 years old, he went on to work in agriculture and decided to further his skills and went on to attain his tree-surgery qualifications and certificates before starting his own business at just 17 years old. Over the next nearly 25 years, Andy built up an established tree-surgery business of his own — until eventually, he decided to wind that side of the business down to be able to spend more time developing Old Oak Farm.
But trees and gardening aren't where Andy's talents stop…
Andy has a fantastic creative eye, particularly when it comes to using reclaimed materials and creating things that look like they have been here for years. He has a real knack for taking something old, giving it a new purpose and making it look as though it has always belonged at Old Oak Farm.

In fact, Rebecca often jokes that she's pretty sure Andy was alive in Roman times — which might explain his love of making things look like they have a few hundred years of history behind them! 😂
And if there’s a new project, a new building, a new development or something that could potentially make Old Oak Farm even better, there’s a very good chance Andy has already thought of it.
Andy is very much the ideas man.

🤍 Meet Rebecca
Rebecca’s background has always been rooted in design, hospitality and creating beautiful spaces.
After achieving all A’s and A*’s in her GCSEs, Rebecca went on to study 3D Design at Somerset College of Arts & Technology, where she discovered her passion for interior design.
Alongside her studies, Rebecca worked as a waitress and bartender at a number of local establishments, learning the foundations of hospitality and, importantly, how to look after people and create an experience they remember.
And if that wasn’t enough, during her studies and right up until she and Andy formed Old Oak Farm, Rebecca also had an agent and worked as an actress and model whenever work was available. 🎬✨
While acting and modelling were an exciting part of her life at the time, Rebecca ultimately chose to steer her career in a different, more stable direction, pursuing her passion for weddings, design and hospitality — and we think it’s fair to say she made a pretty good career choice! 🤍

And this is perhaps where the chalk and cheese really comes in…

Although they work very much as a team, they each have their own roles within Old Oak Farm.
Andy is the driving force behind the new ideas and developments. He’s the one constantly looking at what could be done next, coming up with new projects and then, more often than not, getting stuck in and physically doing a lot of the work himself!
He’s also still very much involved with our couples, undertaking around 50% of our initial venue visits, so you may well meet Andy before you ever meet the rest of the team.
Rebecca, meanwhile, is the one planning and running the events. She manages the accounts, plans the weddings, oversees the day-to-day running of the business and works closely with our couples and the team to make sure everything comes together.

They have very different strengths, but they both get stuck in wherever they’re needed. That’s what has made the partnership & Old Oak Farm so successful over the past 15 years.
From that very first marquee to the venue, accommodation and developments we have today, Old Oak Farm has been built, shaped and continually evolved by the two of them.

And although there is now a fantastic team behind the day-to-day running of the venue, both Rebecca and Andy remain very hands-on — just in very different ways!
15 years, countless projects, plenty of ideas, and one shared vision later… Old Oak Farm is still thriving and is very much a family affair.
So, that’s the couple behind it all.

Rebecca & Andy — chalk and cheese, but somehow the perfect team. 🤍🌿
Keep an eye out as we introduce you to the rest of the team who have helped make the last 15 years so special… ✨
