Looking back over the summer. It was a time for learning how to find my smile again. It’s been the darkest of times and I haven’t opened up on here because it feels too personal right now. I hope one day to find the strength to, because it would be for the right reason, to raise awareness. But now’s not the time. I’m trying to find a balance between being authentic and myself, and also protecting myself and keep some things private. I suppose I’m still learning how to do that. I’ve missed chatting to you all, I’ve got such a wonderful community of supportive people on this account. And everyone who has reached out I appreciate you more than you know 💜

Anyway - this was my summer! For the first time since launching this business, I was able to step away and business continued as usual! All thanks to my amazing team Abbie and Olivia. In the past when I’ve been on holiday, I haven’t been able to take bookings on so I’ve had to turn things down. Which as a small business owner is never ideal! But that’s how it is when you’re one person who wears all the hats! So I feel proud of this. It’s sometimes about the smallest of things that feel like the biggest accomplishments. And for me, LDC running without me is right up there. This was never in the plan. I crossed paths with these girls in the most authentic ways and I genuinely feel so grateful for them 💜

And while they have been creating the most wonderful setups over the summer, I’ve been able to spend some much needed time with my family, chasing sunsets and finding some joy alongside pain.

Ahh it’s so nostalgic looking back! I remember how I feltand the stage she was at each year, at each party. Swipe ⬅️

1️⃣ Lockdown restrictions were lifted. We didn’t really have a theme. We see so many amazing themes now for first birthdays which are super cute 💗 LDC didn’t exist then - we just had a small garden party with family and friends 🥰 She was toddling around in her little party dress and birthday crown 👑

2️⃣ I was a week away from Jude’s due date; we didn’t have a party that year but she was MAD about the Tiger who Came to Tea so we had a little tea party with her tiger teddy🎂

3️⃣ This was actually when I purchased the first lot of LDC stock - it was a joint 3rd and 1st birthday for Phoebe and Jude. We had a Little City party and I did my first setup with the furniture I had - little did I know it would be the first of hundreds! Phoebe sat at the table with her friends and Jude was in a highchair.

4️⃣ We hosted an Encanto party in our garden for Phoebe and her friends. She absolutely adored Isabella and just loved the songs so much; she’d sing her little heart out to Family Madrigal 🌺🕯️

5️⃣ Another joint party - Phoebe was obsessed with unicorns and Jude was Dino mad so we combined the two themes and they each had their own themed table. It was lovely to be able to create a beautiful tablescape as she was a bit older and could appreciate the decor without handling it too much (we always adapt our decor to suit the ages of the children attending). 🦄

6️⃣ For Phoebe’s 6th birthday it was Wicked theme. It was the first school friends party at the start of Year 1 (she’d only just started reception the year before so we kept it to family and family friends). I’ll always remember her perfecting her own ‘toss toss’. 💗💚

7️⃣ I’m not quite sure how we got her to be honest! Wish I could pause time and just stay right here with our Stitch and Angel loving girl 💙💗 She cartwheels her way through life and enjoys doing her best Stitch impression 😅. Check out our reel to see the full details 🫧
