Lamport Hall

Lamport Hall Lamport Hall is a hidden gem in the heart of Northamptonshire
A Grade I historic house & gardens Group bookings are welcomed.

Lamport Hall is a hidden gem in Northamptonshire boasting wonderful gardens, stunning architecture, an impressive art and furniture collection and a full calendar of events. The Hall is Grade I listed and is of great architectural importance, showcasing work by John Webb and Smith of Warwick. From 1560 to 1976, the Hall was home to the Isham family, one of the oldest families in Northamptonshire.

As a result, the collections have remained virtually untouched throughout the centuries providing a captivating snapshot of life in a country house. Come and see the treasures collected by Sir Thomas Isham on his Grand Tour as a newly inherited teenage Baronet, witness the architectural changes made by two feisty wives in the 19th century, and meet Lampy, he first and only surviving garden gnome to be imported from Germany in 1846. Following a period of neglect and misfortune in the 20th century an impressive restoration project was undertaken. Lamport Hall is now back to the former glory it deserves and is just waiting to be explored. The Hall is also a unique setting for weddings and corporate events. Many events are held at the Hall throughout the year including craft and antiques fairs, the Festival of Country Life, study days, and our Gardening Academy. OPENING TIMES 2022

Quantum Theatre presents Treasure Island
Saturday 11th July, 6pm-7:45pm

Ahoy there me hearties! Long John Silver and his crew of salty old sea dogs are weighing anchor at Lamport Hall this summer with the pirate classic, Treasure Island.

From the moment young Jim Hawkins stumbles upon a treasure map at the Admiral Benbow Inn he finds himself embroiled in the murky underworld of pirates - and soon he is on the high seas in search of the pirate hoard . But once aboard the Hispaniola, Jim becomes only too aware that he is not the only one who knows of the map's existence..

Packed full of action, drama, sword fights and sea shanties, Island boy Michael Whitmore’s thrilling new adaptation will have you on the edge of your seat as Jim manfully tries to outwit the pirates and get to the treasure first.

So why not grab a blanket and a picnic and head over to Lamport Hall for an exciting evening of buccaneering adventure as Quantum Theatre present Treasure Island, a treat for the whole family.

“Yo Ho Ho! And a bottle of Rum!
Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest!”

This performance will be outside in Lamport's Walled Garden, a perfect summer's afternoon. There will be a bar available and picnics are welcome although we ask that you don't bring your own alcohol on site.

International Day of Play

Here at Lamport, we know how important play is in early years development, learning and confidence building. We work with a variety of high quality and highly trained external stakeholders to provide a variety of play-based learning opportunities for young people at Lamport. These include a forest school and holiday club operated in our woodland by , an art atelier hosted by for children up to 8 years and stay and play sessions drawing on real life role play experiences by during the school holidays.

On our open days outside of these specific experiences, also encourage play. The gardens can be explored, encouraging inquisitive play and imaginative exploration. We have a gnome trail that children can take part in, opening up conversations with caregivers and physical play opportunities. Our cafe is stocked with childrens' books and toys as well as a role play kitchen to keep children occupied. Our gift shop is also stocked with a variety of toys and books, both educational and open-ended in style.

Whether you home-school, have a pre-schooler or are looking for plans in the summer holidays, why not include Lamport as an educational day out for all, firmly rooted in play and nature.
