Same, same but totally different 👇
Granted these two pics are lit totally differently, but the first is on-the-day, and the second at Molly’s trial.
Your trial is your opportunity to explain to me who you are, what your style is and how you’d like your makeup to fit into your wedding day.
But imagine someone sitting in front of you and then you have to nail their makeup… do it exactly how they want it, with all the idiosyncrasies that we do. So you need to put the blush in the right place, make the liner the right thickness, the right hue of brown, line just in the place they want it on the lips, powder exactly where they go oily and absolutely nowhere else. Apply their mascara so their lashes fan just the way they like them… and definitely don’t make their brows too dark 🫣
It’s harder than it looks, I can tell you!
A trial for me is where I to get to know EXACTLY how you like your makeup. So it may not be absolutely spot on at your trial. Your wedding day makeup is ALWAYS better. There’s so much stopping and starting at a trial, checking we’re heading in the right direction, evaluating at each stage, changing parts (that ultimately make other bits look less seamless)… your trial makeup is a work in progress.
Molly did love both makeups, but I know her wedding day makeup made her so much happier than her trial makeup ever did… after meeting her, and then also meeting her friends, I could tell exactly where I could take her makeup on-the-day 💕
Post-trial I always ask for your feedback on how we’re moving the makeup forwards. And to be honest, the more succinct you can be, the better your makeup will be on the day. While I’m flattered when someone says they love their trial makeup and there’s nothing else we could add, I always believe there is a way to make that makeup even better and even more them.
So brides, don’t be shy post-trial. Cos I’m most definitely sat here picking apart every snap I take from your trial checking if the way I applied everything was the most flattering way for you to make your wedding day makeup the best it can be ✌🏻
