🚨 A real reminder from our community
A recent incident saw morning sunlight reflecting off a mirror and setting a chair cushion alight. Thankfully, the occupier’s quick actions stopped the fire from spreading - but it could have been much worse.

With the heatwave continuing, please check your home for items left in direct sunlight:
☀️ Glasses
☀️ Mirrors
☀️ Crystal or glass ornaments
☀️ Aerosol cans (including deodorants)

Glass and crystal can act like magnifying glasses, focusing sunlight onto flammable materials like curtains, bedding, or furniture. Aerosols can overheat and may rupture or explode.

✅ Keep windowsills clear
✅ Move reflective items out of direct sun
✅ Close curtains or blinds during the day to keep your home cool
