🚨🎧 MEET THE PEOPLE RUNNING THE SHOW 🎧🚨

With the new academic year fast approaching, we’re back and we’re even better.

Back for his 2nd year of CC Presidency, Hotdog is the captain of the ship. I would write a whole paragraph, but I’m sure you’re all familiar with what he’s all about by now 😉.

A fresh face for the 26/27 year, Elliot is your new Vice-President. A lover of his bassline and deep and dark tech house, “ETP” has plenty to bring to the table this year. And I’m not just talking about the litres on litres of hair gel he cant leave the house without🤭.

And last but certainly not least, another fresh face for the 26/27 year, Connor is the life of the party. Whether it’s that god awful “cha cha slide” he pulls out in asylum, or his love for those blue VKs, you never know whats next with this guy. Just make sure you’re out of the vicinity if your hear Rebok Robot getting mixed in😅.

One of the best kept secrets of Hull University is the extensive history of the Crystal Clear DJ Society. Founded in 2005 as the Crystal Clear DJ and Music Appreciation Society, even against all odds with issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic taking a huge hit on the dance music scene, we still managed to prevail. Over the years we’ve booked countless talented artists to come and share the stage with us: AJ Tracey, Ross From Friends, Window Kid, Conducta, D Double E, Shanti Celeste, Champion, Skantia, MPH, Coco, Slimzee. With a track record like this, we had to do something special to celebrate 20 years and we’re extremely proud to be having RTK Tarantino and Sulphur to add to this catalogue and celebrate this milestone.

We would like to take the time to dedicate this post and our event to the late Tom Long, who was a member of Crystal Clear in it’s early days as he left us too soon. We’ve linked a couple of his Soundcloud mixes in our bio for anyone to have a listen to.

We would also like to pay tribute to the late Paul “Jacko” Jackson, a legend in the Hull music scene who has helped countless artists find their footing and given them a stage to be on through the Adelphi, a place where we all feel at home.

Rest in eternal peace.

FULL LINEUP ANNOUNCEMENT💥

This Easter Sunday we’ll be welcoming some of Hull’s finest selectors and producers to showcase the diverse and unique sound this city’s underground scene has to offer. 📀🎚️🎛️🎚️📀

On the main stage we’ll be hosting a room filled with house, garage, techno and everything in-between, with RTK Tarantino and Sulphur taking the stage between 11:30pm and 1:30am🪖

In the beer garden, we’re letting the DJ’s decide the vibe completely. Open genre, suitable for a drunk cig. Expect the unexpected but expect to be dancing 💃🕺

We would like to thank all of our DJ’s in advance for their help with this event as it couldn’t go ahead without them. We’ve always had an eye for talent over the years and this lineup is filled with Crystal Clear members, past and present, as well as people we’ve recognised for contributing to the underground scene in Hull over the past couple of years. 🫶👊

Next up in our artist showcase is (AKA .ruz ), one of the most prolific rising stars across the dance music scene at the moment. His mind bending sound design and unique take on UK Garage is rewriting the scene as we know it. His dual aliases, Sulphur and Scruz both align with different styles of UK Garage, showcasing just how agile and diverse his production abilities really are. On April 5th, we will be welcoming his newer alias to deliver some groovy dance-floor weapons to mesh perfectly with the sounds of , guaranteed to keep you moving all night. Some of our favourite releases of Sulphur’s include his “Who Carez EP” with standout tracks such as “What R We Doin” and “Release My Mind” which included his own vocals, as well as his recent release on ‘s record label “SULPHUR IS IN THE HOUSE” with standout tunes such as “Nothing” and “Body”. If you’re interested in hearing some more tunes of his before our event on April 5th, we would highly recommend his 100% Productions Mix on the youtube channel for some serious flavours. 🪖

This will be Sulphur’s debut show in Hull, tickets are available in our bio. Get ready to have your ears christened and your mind released. 🤯

First up on our artist showcase is the new Speed Garage Sheriff of Leeds- . Coming from South East London, RTK’s entrance to the scene has been nothing short of disruptive. His fusion of electro, house, breakbeat and speed garage has set him apart from other producers in the scene, making him one of the most forward thinking creators in the game right now. Some of our favourite tunes by him include “Jungle Is Massive” and “Top Shagga” on his 22 release, as well as “Peter Ian Staker” and “SE16” on his “SE16” EP release on .london . If you’re interested in some deeper listening before you make it to on April 5th then we would highly recommend his 100% RTK Productions mixes if you really want to see what he’s about. 🛸

This April, we celebrate 20 YEARS of the Crystal Clear DJ Society being founded. From humble beginnings, we’ve always had an eye for up and coming talent and our track record proves it. From booking artists such as: AJ Tracey, Champion, Shanti Celeste, Ross From Friends, Conducta, MPH and Window Kid over the years, we’re absolutely gassed to bring you the next edition of artists we’re expecting to go far in the future.

Sulphur (AKA Scruz) will be going B2B with RTK Tarantino for two hours on the 5th April at The Polar Bear Music Club to celebrate this milestone for us. As a DJ society, grassroots venues and proper underground talent have always been at the centre of our vision and this felt like our way of giving back to an amazing community in Hull that’s given so much to us over the years.

4pm-2:30am, this won’t be one to miss. Easter Sunday, 5th April. Extremely limited £2 Early bird tickets going live very soon. See you on the dancefloor and here’s to another 20 years 🍾x
