I love to reminisce about the clubs and nightclubs of yesteryear because, in my opinion, they really were the golden days of live entertainment. My first professional job was at Romeos & Juliets, and from there I went on to perform at venues such as the Aquarius, Blazers, and, of course, Jacksons Club. The standard of entertainment in those days was exceptional. From the presentation and costumes to the vocals and performances, everything was always absolutely top class.
Every now and again, we have an act appear at one of our afternoons that takes us right back to those wonderful days of show business. That is exactly what happened on Friday when we welcomed our cabaret act, Michael Clews.
Michael's tribute to Elvis, followed by his tribute to Neil Diamond, was like stepping back in time to an era when a great cabaret act could completely captivate an audience. And just like the amazing performers of those days, Michael certainly didn't short-change his audience. Each of his sets lasted for over an hour, and he fully deserved the standing ovation he received at the end of his show.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a true professional. Thank you, Michael Clews. You left a full room of people very happy!
Next up is our George Michael Tribute Afternoon on September 13th, and there are now only a few tickets remaining.
We look forward to seeing you all very soon!
Love to all x
