Wishing Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen a speedy recovery after he was injured in a car accident while touring in the US. Thankfully, reports suggest his injuries are not serious, although he was taken for medical assessment and the band’s Philadelphia show had to be postponed. Sending best wishes to Ian and hoping he’s back on stage soon. 🎶❤️

🎧 Weekend DJ report in! 🎶

Honestly, I didn’t even get time to breathe, let alone sip my drink 🥤😂 The dancefloor was absolutely packed from the first beat right through to the last—zero empty space, zero quiet moments!

Requests? They were coming in faster than I could play them! 📝💨 I had people leaning over the booth, waving phones, shouting song titles… I felt like I was running a music delivery service, not just DJing! 🚚🎵

Loved every second of it though—you guys absolutely smashed it! 🕺💃 Thanks for the best crowd ever. Who’s ready for the next one? 😉🔥

Excuse me… HOW is Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles 40 years old this year?! 😳

FORTY.

I refuse to accept this information and would like to speak to the manager of time immediately.

One minute we were dramatically waving our arms about like confused hieroglyphics, and the next… we’re making noises when we stand up and getting excited about a good pair of supportive shoes. 😭

Honestly, where did the time go? I still know every word, every arm move, and yes… I absolutely still do the “Egyptian walk” when it comes on. No shame.

Now excuse me while I go stare into the distance wondering how the 80s were apparently four decades ago… 🏺🎶😂

Last night’s gig was for a surprise 60th birthday party… and what a night it was! 🥳

Now, I’ll be honest, there was a slight issue with microphone feedback, which was devastating for me personally because I do enjoy the soothing, melodic sound of my own voice 🎤😂 Every time I picked the mic up, it sounded like a distressed dolphin was trying to join the band.

But did anyone care? Absolutely not.

Within minutes, the place descended into beautiful chaos with barely any encouragement. One minute people were politely chatting over a drink, the next they were throwing shapes on the dance floor like they were auditioning for Strictly: Midlife Crisis Edition.

There was singing, dancing, enthusiastic air-mic performances, and enough dodgy dance moves to put several chiropractors on standby.

Safe to say, feedback or not, everyone had an absolute blast. Happy 60th to the birthday superstar — you lot were gloriously bonkers and I loved every minute! 😂🥂

Morning before a DJ gig = me turning into an FBI agent investigating my own equipment. 🎧🔍

Laptop? Check.
Controller? Check.
Headphones? Check.
Cables? Approximately 472 of them and still convinced I’ve forgotten the important one. 🤦‍♀️

Then comes the ritual panic…

“Did I pack the charger?”
“Why do I own so many random leads?”
“What if the USB decides today is the day it retires?”

Meanwhile, everyone thinks being a DJ is all glamour and looking cool behind the decks, but the reality is me at 8am, surrounded by wires, testing everything like I’m preparing for a space mission and muttering, “Please just work tonight” to my equipment. 😂🎶

And despite checking everything three times, I’ll still spend the whole drive wondering if I’ve forgotten something important! 😂
