A Hedon knitting group have issued an appeal for help as they work to create a poppy display for St Augustine’s Church in time for Remembrance.

Members of the Knit and Natter group, who meet every Thursday at Hedon Library, have already made more than 100 knitted poppies, but say they need support from other local groups, organisations and individuals who can knit or crochet.

Meet the owners

Mike and Marian

Mike and Marian have had the Nags Head since January 1979, and have now been at the Nags Head for 47 years,

Mike and Marian have been a big part of the Preston village community from putting on big events for the village to raising money for local causes, and been at the heart of village life,

They have employed lots of local people over the years they have been at the Nags bringing local employment.

There main hobbies are shopping (all be it for the pub) and Holidays especially Cruise's.

You will usually find Mike pottering about repairing something or doing the gardening.

And Marian somewhere keeping the nags team on there toes.
