Iceland bound! I can’t wait to get back to Iceland tomorrow for the 5th Wedding of the year. It’s been such a busy few months but everytime I land in Reykjavik I feel instantly calm. ✨

I’ve learnt during my time with Icelanders over the years to adopt their philosophy, with a popular slogan roughly translating to ‘everything will work out all right in the end’. I personally find great comfort in this phrase & love this nation of people, both native & otherwise 💙

Thank you for capturing me besides this immense glacier! 🤍

❄️ Wild winter storms ❄️ hit southern Iceland in February and by some miracle the storms calmed for just a few days allowing for a calm, snow storm free Wedding day for Jake & Daisy! Following their legal ceremony at the Church, they ventured to nearby waterfalls & to the black sand beach to capture some iconically beautiful photos with the absolutely awesome .photo 💕

With limited daylight the couple returned to the hotel for their Wedding dinner and cut their gorgeous traditional Kransakaka cake lovingly made by ✨

I feel so honoured to have played a small part in Jake & Daisy’s Wedding, and I know that they felt the cathartic strength & magic of Iceland during their time there. A huge thank you as always to the incredible suppliers that made their Wedding possible. I wish you both a lifetime of love & happiness. 🤍

🤍 J&D Love Story 🤍

Daisy, a super talented costume designer for the film industry, was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney & liver cancer just months after the birth of her & Jakes baby son. I cannot begin to imagine the challenges these guys have battled, but as a mother myself, I know their little boy will have brought an abundance of light in the dark times. ✨

Daisy continued her treatments with Jake by her side & over the coming months we had some lovely meetings to plan their ideal Wedding in Iceland in the heart of winter. Deciding on an intimate Wedding at the much loved Skalakot Manor House with their ceremony at the nearby Church we set to work!

Before I depart for my next Wedding of the season, I’m looking back on the past few months & the magical Weddings I’ve been part of to share with you all.

All my couples love stories are unique and special to me and Jake & Daisy were no exception. We met in October last year and set to work planning their dream Icelandic Wedding with their loved ones. Their story is one of bravery, strength and above all true love. I’m sure you’ll agree this is one special Wedding ✨

💙 Congratulations M&P ~ 21.12.21 💙

I started working with Megan & Pete at the start of 2021, and we hit it off straight away! Based in Wyoming these guys were no strangers to mountain hikes & freezing temperatures!

We explored ceremony options in southern Iceland, and a stunning waterfall Wedding ceremony was quickly decided on! With plenty of waterfalls to choose from we began narrowing down choices and reviewing hotels suitable for the guest numbers.

The Wedding party decided on the elegant Manor Hotel for their base in southern Iceland and from here we pieced together their timeline to fit in as much as possible.

Their legally binding ceremony was beautifully officiated by Baering who prepared a really heartfelt, emotional & hilarious script for Megan & Pete.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After the Ceremony at a nearby waterfall we ventured to the Black Sand Beach for photos before visiting the Sólheimajökull glacier & having some fun in the lava fields!

Guests then warmed up by the outdoor fire at the Hotel before a delicious 3 course Wedding dinner and a traditional Icelandic Wedding cake lovingly made by Gina which tasted divine!

The day after we drove to Vik for an Ice Cave tour with . Fitting our crampons & helmets securely we took a Super Jeep tour into the heart of Kötlujökull glacier with its impressive layered volcanic ash & ice caves. Our tour guide was amazing & these natural ice caves were otherworldly.

It was a huge pleasure working with M&P and I cannot thank the awesome suppliers that worked with us on this including the super talented 💕

✨22.02.22 ~ Congratulations to MJ&H✨

I met MaryJane & Haikal from Singapore at the start of 2021 as we began their Elopement planning journey together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Numerology plays an important role in Chinese culture and the importance of this was reflected in MaryJane & Haikal’s chosen Wedding date of 22.02.22 ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The original plan was for a luxury winter ATV tour to a secret island located on Fjallsárlón Lagoon where the ceremony would take place with canapes and champagne before a personalised tour of the glacier. The Icelandic weather may have had other ideas and with roads closed to the south coast due to storms we had to work on plan B, C & D! 🙌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Working closely with their incredible pagan celebrant they waiting till the storms had calmed enough for a shore side ceremony in Reykjavik with a stunning bouquet by followed by footage in the city. The weather allowed the team to travel South the following day for further exploration and MJ&H were married on their date of choice despite the challenges.

A huge thank you goes to Haukur, and for being so flexible. It was a pleasure working with you all & I know MJ&H had the most magical time in Iceland & an adventurous start to their marriage. 💙❄️
