Pentney Abbey, a fully restored 14c medieval gatehouse in Norfolk, is the most exclusive and idyllic venue for weddings, functions, film shoots and events.

Being surrounded by miles of unspoilt countryside and sitting on the edge of the Nar Valley, the estate is linked to the Nar Valley Way, one of Norfolk's major walking routes giving unrivalled opportunities for nature lovers to walk, ride, cycle or fish in our river, or just get away from it all. Included in the 35-acre site are two high specification self catering holiday cottages, luxury en-suite annex, a large medieval barn, plus a meeting/conference room for corporate events. We even have the facility for helicopter landings. Pentney Abbey's unique gatehouse and extraordinary setting make it your perfect choice for:

"Words cannot express our thanks and appreciation for Katie at UNV Pentney Abbey. You gave us the BEST day of our lives, and were absolutely incredible from day one. Thank you!!!

We decided to get married in four months, so quick planning and efficiency was required. Katie went above and beyond in helping us achieve everything we wanted within this short timeframe. Katie was always fast to respond to our emails, available for Teams calls, available for venue tours, and is the ultimate wedding coordinator! From organising suppliers, being responsible for logistics, calming our nerves, ensuring on the day everything was exactly how we wanted, getting me into my dress, taking gorgeous photos… I could go on! Katie literally did it all!

Katie is kind, hilarious, so hardworking, has incredible attention to detail, and I truly believe genuinely cares about creating your perfect wedding day. We understand why she is head wedding coordinator!

Pentney itself is GORGEOUS, you only need to visit to see how stunning it is and how well kept both the venue and accommodation is. Everything is perfect and executed to such a high quality and standard. Surrounded by fields you obtain ultimate privacy and beautiful uninterrupted views. We were able to host both of our families in the gorgeous rooms, and all gather the following morning for breakfast and a debrief! The bridal prep room is perfect - spacious, clean, has lots of vanity units and a convenient en-suite. Pentney Abbey is the ultimate fairytale wedding venue." - Daniel and Isabella

"I don’t know where to begin. We fell in love with Pentney abbey back in 2022 when we secured our date for November 2024. We visited the venue a fair few times on the opening days and fell in love with it all even more - we knew this is where we wanted to get married.

6 months before the wedding, you’re assigned a wedding planner & I truly believe we hit the jackpot with ours. Katherine, you are amazing. I genuinely would’ve been lost with you. Your calmness, support, reassurance, kind & genuine ways weren’t unnoticed and were very much appreciated throughout the build up to our wedding and on the day itself. Kath, you went above and beyond to make sure every single wish of ours was fulfilled, your attention to detail & care was appreciated more than you’ll know. The whole UNV team were amazing from start to finish. The day was absolutely faultless. Any stress or worries which either of us had were taken away by the team and we were made to feel so very special.

The food was delicious, we received so many compliments. And the thought behind the staff of not interrupting us on the dance floor with the evening food but putting it in the honeymoon suite for us to enjoy later, along with some cake & bubbles was grateful appreciated.

All of the guests commented on what a beautiful venue Pentney Abbey is, how seamless everything was made to be, how accommodating the staff were & how much they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank Kath enough, I feel I’ve gained a friend in her, thank you thank you thank you. For giving us the most perfect day of our lives that we truly will treasure forever… can we do it all again please?!"
