Musician/Producer/DJ Portamento is a London based Producer & DJ who makes shimmering and downbeat House music.

Initially intended as a project to perform remixes for friends and Artists, Portamento has collaborated with a number of vocalists bringing a song like structure to the Dance music genre, utilising modern recording techniques alongside the use of analogue Drum Machines and Synths. Portamento has been described as a combination of ‘Lush reverb soaked vocals, juxtaposed with dirty and at times blip-

based House beats, with a foot in Indie as much as electronic music’. In April 2017 Portamento achieved a top10 hit on the Beatport House charts with his first release ‘Neon Lover’ (Feat. HANNIE) on Coldwave records, achieving a top10 hit on the Beatport House charts.

Hi I'm Mat, but i go under the name 'Portamento'.

I'm a London based Producer/DJ/Live performer and Visual Artist who makes a varied blend of Electronic Music. My music is situated between introspective Dance/House music utilizing Hardware synthesis manipulation on top of Dance floor based beats, as well as more ambient and soundtrack based composition with a focus towards Field Recordings & contemporary Electronic music.

At the moment i'm concentrating on my Audio/Visual work which focuses on the area which i was born in (New Brighton, Wirral) . But I’m always releasing stuff which is more House & Beat based, bringing together the ideas explored in my more ambient and downbeat explorative music to the dancefloor.
