The beautiful knitted and crocheted meadow has been created by the Kidlington WI Knit and Natter Group. The skilled group have been busy since February 2026, making over 500 individual items and then sewing them onto a large canvas to be seen from The Moors in Kidlington. Janice Bridges the Project Leader stated it was a pleasure to create this stunning artwork for LIncroft Meadow.

Knitted Cornflower. For those of you who have asked about the meadow cornflowers: each cornflower was made of 7 knitted pale blue and three dark blue trumpet flowers. Dark blue and sparkly threads were sewn in the centre as stamens.

Kidlington WI knit and natter group have been busy since February creating a knitted meadow. The group have made over 500 items covering a canvas of 5m x 1m for the balcony of Lincroft Meadow Care home in Kidlington.

Our group spent all of May sewing on the daisies, buttercups, poppies, cornflowers, stems, white campions, forget-me-nots, butterflies and bees with the residents knitting pink campions to add to the colourful display.

Janice Bridges the Project Leader stated it was a pleasure to create this special artwork. We are delighted with the result.

On Tuesday we will be meeting for a chat and coffee/lunch at Stanley's at 1pm.Hope to see you there.
