👻 Are you a ghost? 👻
Let me explain. Its becoming more and more common that couples often ghost wedding suppliers that they no longer want to book. This means they don’t hear back from you at all.
It's become so prevalent that wedding suppliers are spending hours and hours chasing potential leads that you (the couple) are no longer interested in. This costs💰️
It's got to the point that I'm hearing so much about it from suppliers that I feel we (Unconventional Wedding) need to ask our lovely couples to please 'DON'T BE A GHOST!'. Please read 👇🏻
Let's run through the impacts of being a ghost
- You book a video call or in-person appointment and decide last minute not to attend. The supplier has booked out that time in their diary. They spend time getting ready - they may even travel there to meet you. They can't book the slot for someone else. That is lost time that they could have been spending on someone who was interested in their services or growing their business. Any costs related to it are sunk.
- You decide you no longer want to book a supplier as you've found someone else. The supplier you no longer want spends time chasing your lead. You don't answer their emails as you find it annoying that they are emailing you. But the supplier has no idea that you've found someone else! They are sending email after email and getting nothing back. And honestly it can be heart breaking 💔 when you get ghosted as you have no idea what you have done wrong
So my plea today to all our lovely couples 🙏🏻
- Please tell suppliers that you no longer want to book them. We really can take it on the chin and your feedback will help us grow our businesses 💗
- If you can't make an appointment, message us in advance. We know life sometimes get in the way. Most suppliers have automated booking systems, so its super easy to rearrange or cancel an appointment too.
