Telephone your order - receive a collection time - drive up - collect - take home and enjoy authentic Thai cuisine in your own home. From wok to table in minutes. All meals are cooked to order. We serve freshly-cooked authentic Thai meals, none of our meals are

pre-cooked. Our takeaway and street food cafe is at Unit 6, Dockray Hall Mill (LA9 4RU). Open from 5pm-9pm Tuesday to Saturday. Also visit our 'dine-in' streetfood cafe, open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm - 9pm. Booking essential. The business was awarded 5 stars by (SLDC) for food and hygiene standards.

EVOLUTION OF THE THAI KITCHEN🇹🇭

In 2016 we both looked at each other and decided we’d give street food a go and it’s been a journey. Sunshine, storms, snow, hail, wind…. Rain and wind (the worst combination) but we’ve enjoyed every step of it.

So I thought we’d do a little post to appreciate how far we’ve come in 9 years not just on the stall but overall.

None of this would’ve been possible without the support of our loyal customers and friends we’ve made along the way… but most importantly our chef, Amporn ❤️

🥬WILD GARLIC STIR FRY:
Hand picked local wild garlic, stir fried with homemade stir fry sauce, basil, garlic, chilli, mushrooms and either belly pork or prawns.

🍜UDON PAD KEE MAO:
Udon noodles, stir fried in dark soya sauce, a variety of veg and meat of your choice (a simple street food classic but delicious)

Our Story

'Thai Kitchen in Lakeland' was established in 2006 and initially provided authentic Thai cuisine for dinner parties, and other special occasions, in homes and holiday cottages around the Lake District. In 2016, with Amporn’s 16 years experience working at one of Cumbria’s leading Thai restaurants, we ventured out and set up our business. We began to cater at outdoor events, bringing our authentic Thai street food to many local events and festivals throughout Cumbria and the North West.

Our business grew exponentially and today we also run a takeaway cafe at Unit 6, Dockray Hall Mill (LA9 4RU). We are open for Thai takeaways on Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week from 5pm - 9pm.

Later in 2020 we will open our Thai cafe in the centre of Kendal from Wednesday to Saturday (10am - 4pm), providing traditional Thai food. This will be a different menu than the ones usually found in many Thai restaurants, as many of our dishes will derive from the grass roots of Thai cuisine.
