Flowers to remember//

Creating designs for families who have lost their loved ones is deeply moving & something I feel privileged to be entrusted with. Amidst the heartbreak it’s also incredibly inspiring too. The stories shared of lives lived with joy, love & laughter serve as beautiful reminders of what’s important & how quickly time passes.

Just like the flowers we all have our seasons and being able to create designs that celebrate the lives of those most loved using the most beautifully grown British flowers is truly special. Often in the colours that meant so much, it’s a part of the business I will always cherish & feel gratitude for.

Floralistas funeral flowers are always green woodland burial friendly, containing no chemicals, dyes, foam or plastic using eco mechanics for our large scale designs or wreaths made on Cumbrian willow or our most popular, the oversized bouquet. These designs are often returned to be repurposed into mini posies to be gifted to live ones or dried & made into everlasting mementos.

Everlasting love//

Dried florals have always been a big part of The Floralistas, being a seasonal studio it allows us to design year round as the earth rests through the winter months.

It also means that you can keep flowers that mean so much for more than a day or weekend and for those that don’t fall under our fresh local delivery catchment area we post these beauties nationwide.

• Funerals, they make beautiful keepsakes in the colours that meant so much to loved ones

• Weddings, for lovers of texture, colour and longevity, available in a rainbow of colourways from neutral to pastel, sorbet pops to disco brights.

• Everyday moments

As always flowers are grown and dried in Britain as well as our Kendal studio and we never use dyed.

We also dry your fresh Floralista wedding bouquets and recreate into everlasting posies as part of your wedding service extras.

Do get in touch if you’d like to know more.

Camouflage season is back and there’s no other place I’d rather be

This time of year if you can’t get hold of me I’ll generally be inside, on top or under a bush of some sort & this week it’s this sweet scented apple blossom grown by the fabulous Emma in Windermere.

Regardless of the above, still here for bouquets, workshops, hen parties, weddings, events, funerals, subscriptions. Fresh or everlasting, always seasonal, always air-mile free, almost always local. (April saw 100% Cumbrian & May is looking pretty good too!) DM, email, ring if you want, need, long for outrageously gorgeous flowers.

Spring has brought such beautiful tablescapes for events being hosted around Cumbria. Much of our designs for such intimate gatherings and celebrations remain private but they linger on in the memory and are one of my favourite things to create. Curating a floral table design that reflects the people or the brand whilst working with seasonal varieties at the height of their beauty, whether that be flowers, vegetables, foliage or plants, is such a joy. Often working closely to match corporate colours and core values or clients menus and milestones.

This was for Columbia clothing. They foraged with before sitting down to dinner surrounded by our designs. Leaning into a mossy dappled woodland theme I used a neutral palette with touches of their brand blue. Tall, arching spirea branches & honeysuckle vines intertwined above, framing miniature muscari, scented narcissi & bowing heads of hellebores below. All held in moss within ceramic vase ware to give a contemporary organic mood . All of our table designs were & always are replanted or gifted afterwards and our moss was returned to the garden where it all began.

Can’t wait to create many more in the months to come.

Long time in the making// not quite 200 years despite my fingers telling me otherwise!

Earlier this year I received an incredibly exciting email from Wordsworth Trust asking to meet & talk all things winter & Wordsworth. What followed was a journey into the past that, as a Cumbrian inhabitant with this gem on my doorstep, I’m ashamed to say I knew very little about.

Treated to a guided tour to gain inspiration for what could be. The morning began with a full on sensory immersion into the 1800s as I entered Dove cottage & its wood smoke & memories. Leaving via William & Dorthys back door I stepped into a country cottage garden on the slopes of Grasmeres highest tops. Winding my way through a nature lovers dream I’m suddenly met with modernity, high walls of slate stonework, giant glass panes, sharp edges & bold architecture inviting you to jump straight into the present day & once again be immersed in a whole new experience. The museum is truly incredible. Who knew all you had to do was travel 30 mins from Kendal to find a museum of capital worthy standards. State of the art exhibitions educate, transport and inspire & what I loved most was the conversations it prompted. It’s no exaggeration to say I drove away with a head full of wonder & renewed curiosity, inspired to create.

We’re a funny lot these days, museums instantly induce yawns & if you’ve read this far you’re a minority. Instant entertainment, fleeting seconds & onto the next short term fix.
But that morning stays with me still, a few hours delving into poems, words, art & nature was a wonderful reminder to be in the moment more, create more, cultivate curiosity more.

What I decided upon was a Christmas through Dorothy’s eyes. She loved nature & celebrating the seasons. I think she also had a fun, independent, loving spirit that found joy in sharing & would have really embraced the Floralistas style. Gentle on the Earth but with oversized scale & drama, grounded by whimsical fun & festive romance. So, 200 years later kissing boughs grace her home in memory of a woman who did so much more than was acknowledged at the time. I’m beyond grateful to have been entrusted with this unique project.

What a workshop weekend we had. An absolutely wonderful way to see out November in the company of so many familiar faces and so many new ones too.

Hopefully your wreaths are surviving the frosts, sun, cold, rain, hail, warmth and wild winds 🤣 considering we nearly got snowed in one year this one was actually the mildest yet!

Thank you so, so much for joining me this year, your loyalty & custom is so appreciated especially with so many workshops now out there and things as they are in the big wide world. I’ve had so many kind messages expressing the joy of just being in the moment and that moment lasting 3 whole hours.
Now you’ve got the tools and skills hopefully you can recreate many more moments of peace.
I’m already planning next years with some exciting new ideas from all the chats had.

If you missed this years there are some tickets left for the everlasting wreath hosted later this month. You can book via the website or directly with

Bespoke handmade Floralistas wreath diary is pretty much full now but door swags are still available. Order via the website or dm if easier.

Hopefully see you next year for some more mindful moments. Who fancies a spring gathering?

Thanks so much to for hosting me this year too. The perfect day for a drive to the Langdales.
