Hard not to love a poppy, especially one so vibrant!

Flower school brings so much joy, healing, love, laughter… all the emotions, and last week was no exception.

I try my best to create a calm and relaxed environment, one that allows everyone to find their floral sweet spot.
There’s no judgment, no rules to abide by, no wrong way only encouragement and experience given.

We learn side by side, everyone enjoying the process, the flowers, the new found friends.
I will forever be in awe of the incredible designs I see born out of this very special place…

I’m excited to meet you if you’re joining me this summer, the British flowers are going to blow your mind!

Amsterdam 2025…
I have so much to say about the past two weeks in Amsterdam. It’s been a heady mix of flowers, learning, laughs, incredible sights and sounds. But as ever it’s about the people. Thank you to Julia, Saras, Leandra, Katie, Martina and Lisa for being so committed to each and every day. We grew to know more about each other day by day. We discovered together and learned so much from so many…

To the team and .nl - we had a lot of fun walking through rows and rows of tulips and immersing ourselves in the scent of the sweetpea!

Rewinding to Thursday when the task of the day was to create an installation of flowers, a colour palette I titled tutti frutti…
The vibe was to create a fun design and to have some while creating it!

Using a wooden frame covered in birch bundles and baskets with containers and chickenwire then design was foam free.

Congratulations to Lisa, Katie, Julia, Saras, Martina and Leandra for working so brilliantly together and for creating such a beautiful design too 🍒🍊🍋🍐🍉

Back in school today after a day of industry visits yesterday, we motored on and created hand-tied bouquets, a tablescape and transformed into bssket meadows!

Here’s a peek into life in Amsterdam flower school where the light hits just right. Here’s Martina’s meadow resting at the end of the day!

Tomorrow we’re heading out to for a tiptoe through those world renowned tulips!

From plants to poppies!
Day number 2 in Amsterdam brought flowers - lots of them, delivered (in water) by Hoek. Chatting in the early hours to the delivery driver I discovered he had lived in Accrington, Lancashire for 5 years - playing for Accrington Stanley FC no less - ‘’exactly’’ If you’re under the age of 50 you probably won’t have a clue what I’m talking about 😆

Anyway I digress! We talked about how to care for your flowers, how to condition them so they give you their very best.
We spent time choosing the right flowers for the job and then everyone created beautiful bowls. We captured hundreds of images and videos and chattered some more, I love learning more about everyone day by day.
Tomorrow we’re heading out to visit to see exactly what goes on behind the scenes as well as a trip to see the sweetpea grower .nl
Cant wait to breathe in the heady sweetpea scent 🫠
