Stand & Deliver number 115 took place on Friday 29th August, back at our Debenham Community Centre base.
We had a full list of performers, plus some, & a busy night ahead.
Margaret & Nick: began the evening with the charming 'Close To You', followed by...
Nick, Steve & Tony M - displaying his silky skills on keyboard: for the beautifully haunting 'Whiter Shade Of Pale', followed by 'Summer Of '69'.
Greenstone: Alison & Tim, joining us again for a great trio of 'Still I'm Sad', their own composition 'Sea Glass' & finally 'Here Comes The Rain Again'.
Jezza: in fine form with 'What A Wonderful World' sandwiched between 2 of his own compositions 'Angel In The Morning' & 'Road'.
Judith: one of Stand & Deliver's most loyal supporters over the last 9 years, making a splendid debut on keyboard, with 3 super confident performances: 'St Anthony Chorale', 'The Harmonious Blacksmith' & 'Emmanuel'. Well done Judith, you're a star!
Stephen, Will & Martin: displaying great vocal, guitar & fiddle skills respectively, on 'Waiting Around To Die', followed by...
Stephen, Will & Steve: on probably the song of the night - Chris Isaaks' 'Wicked Game'. Fantastic!
Adam: back again to entertain us with a fine trio of 'Fire And Rain', 'Strolling Down The Highway' & 'Homeward Bound'.
George: with an assured, mellow trio of 'Long May You Run', 'Highland Cathedral' & 'Hello Again'.
Dawn & Kevin: bringing the 1st half to a close with 'Video Games', which came between their 30/40 year song 'You're Still The One' & Stereophonics' 'Have A Nice Day'. On the latter 2 they were joined by Steve & his super bass playing.
After a very short break, the 2nd half kicked off with...
Under The Bridge: Annie, Kate, Michael & Rob, making a very welcome return to Stand & Deliver with a cracking trio of 'The Long Way Home', 'The Shape Of Love' & 'Love Cats'.
Neil: with a splendid Jason Isbell trio of 'Go It Alone', 'Streetlights' & old favourite 'Stockholm'.
Pauline & Tony: with super harmonies on 'Boulder To Birmingham' & the Dylan inspired 'Diamonds & Rust'.
Edmund: on his 2nd Stand & Deliver appearance & a very confident trio of 'Honey Pie', 'April Come She Will' & 'Last Thing On My Mind'.
The Unexpected: Joy, Tony, Steve & Nick, firstly with splendid renditions of 'Big Bad Handsome Man' & 'Doctor My Eyes', before Joy & Nick shared vocal duties on the also splendid 'Bright Side Of The Road'.
David & Nick: on Davids' own super composition 'Hold On Fast', followed by...
David & Will: Will stepping in with excellent electric guitar skills to add to Davids' own 'We're Out Of Time'.
Sarah & Peter: with a marvellous enigmatic duo of 'The Irish Ballad'( Rickety, Tickety, Tin ) followed by 'Pirate Jenny'.
Terry: paying us another visit, with guitar at the ready for his duo of 'Little Miss Dynamite' & Aviciis' 'Wake Me Up'.
Teresa & Les: with Teresas' beautiful vocals on 'I Don't Want To Talk About It' & 'You Know I'm No Good', before Les shared singing duties & Steve joined on bass for 'Old Time Rock & Roll'.
The finale' involved...
David, the 2 Tonys, Teresa, Les, Steve, Will, Peter & Kevin on 'Knockin' On Heavens' Door'.
47 numbers - that was some night! A couple of us may just have needed a short holiday after all that! 😎
Thank you to all our 30 performers, our very attentive audience & of course to Brian, assisted by Ollie on the mixing desk.

Friday 25th July found us in a fantastic new venue for Stand & Deliver - the Great Hall at the Debenham Lion.
A great atmosphere greeted our performers, with several new faces in the audience.
We began with a presentation to Alan - the latest to join our 50 performances club. Well done Alan.
David: then kicked off the music, with two of his own super compositions - 'Ghosts' & 'Take A Little Time Now'. More of David later.
Dawn & Kevin: with their own version of 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved', before being joined by Steve on bass for 'Witchy Woman' & 'Graffiti On The Train'. Thanks Steve.
Neil: & a splendid trio of Snow Patrol's 'Run', followed by 'High And Dry' & 'Half The World Away'.
Teresa & Les: with the upbeat 'The Way You Make Me Feel', Les taking over main vocals on 'Lay Back In The Arms Of Someone' followed by 'Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow'. Great work you two.
Adam: with firstly a super instrumental from the TV programme The Dark Isle, before being joined by...
Maddie: making her Stand & Deliver debut with beautiful vocals on 'Flash Company' & 'Big Yellow Taxi'. We much look forward to seeing you both perform at Stand & Deliver again very soon.
George: beginning his set with 'Meet Me On The Corner', before going all Irish on us! With 'The Belle Of Belfast City' & 'The Fields Of Athenry'.
David: brought us to the interval with a cracking rendition of 'Babylon'.
Time for a chat & a visit to the bar, before...
Terry: began the second half, on his second time with Stand & Deliver & also his second ever public performance! with his own super composition 'Let's Go High', followed by 'Go Your Own Way' & 'Caramel' - all performed with great confidence.
Margaret, Nick & Steve: with the lovely, mellow 'Moon River', then...
Nick & Steve: with the nautical 'Sailing', before being joined by David, to provide harmonies on Neil Young's 'After The Gold Rush'.
Alan & Gerry: Alan now sporting his new Stand & Deliver t-shirt for their varied trio of 'Stand By Me', 'Breakfast In America' & 'Ventura Highway'.
Sarah & Peter: firstly with the very un-fluffy, but splendid 'White Rabbit', followed by 'Taking My Business Elsewhere' & the essential Cohen number of the night - 'Story Of Isaac'.
Edmund: making a very competent Stand & Deliver debut with firstly 'First Song' - very apt - followed by Dylan's 'You Ain't Goin' Nowhere' ( he knows how to garner favour 😄) & then 'Lady Came From Baltimore'. Well done Edmund.
Kevin: celebrating obtaining tickets for Dylan's upcoming tour in November with his 'Man In The Long Black Coat'.
Teresa & Les: back to the performance area with the rocking 'Mony, Mony'.

Margaret, Nick & Steve: leading the audience into 'Sweet Caroline' - anticipating the Lionesses' victory in the Euros final maybe??⚽& finally...
Neal H: was encouraged out from the audience, for splendid vocals, accompanied by Nick, Steve, Teresa & Les on Johnny B Goode - with ensuing dancing.
What a night!
Thanks everyone for the great entertainment & to our super audience who were very encouraging & supportive...& special thanks to Brian on the mixing desk.
We also need to say an extra thank you to Leonora, Sarah, Ollie & all staff at the Lion for your hospitality & enabling us to hold our open mic in your wonderful pub.

We had a full line up of performers, plus some, & a sultry night for Stand & Deliver on Friday 27th June in Debenham Community Centre.
Kevin & Steve: began the music with the poignant 'Does This Train Stop On Merseyside', followed by...
Alan & Gerry: on good form with a trio of 'Days Like These', 'Moonlight Shadow' & 'Moondance'. Gerry was then presented with his 30 performances mug.
Sarah & Peter: with tales of impending heartbreak in 'A Lover Spurned' & 'If You Go Away', before being joined by Steve on a splendid 'First We Take Manhattan'...as Pete said...no evening would be quite complete without a Leonard Cohen number!
Neil: with a super trio of 'Other Side Of The World', 'Wichita Lineman' & one of our favourites 'Goodnight Elisabeth'.
Stephen, Will & Martin: on vocals, guitar & fiddle respectively for a cracking version of 'The Days Of Pearly Spencer'.
Ava: back with her guitar on this occasion & once more entertaining us with beautiful vocals on 'Betty', 'Hallelujah' & Gracie Abram's 'That's So True'.
Roscoe: on his 2nd performance at Stand & Deliver with a good old rocking trio of 'Life Man', 'Past The Point Of Rescue' & 'Walking In Memphis'.
Derek: brought us to the interval with a mellow duo of Sinatra's 'Let Me Try Again' & 'Devoted To You' - especially for his wife Carol, followed by sing-along 'Rolling In My Sweet Baby's Arms'.
Time for a cooling drink!
The 2nd half began with...
George: also in a mellow mood with a trio of John Denver's 'For Baby ( For Bobbie )', then 'Always On My Mind' & 'Somewhere Along The Road'.
Richard: putting his whisky glass to one side, to bring us his versions of 'Illegal Smile', 'Castle On The Hill' & 'Men' - all in his inimitable style.
Terry Clarke: making a fine Stand & Deliver debut, with firstly an Ipswich - inspired composition 'Home Town', followed by 'Daisy On The Internet'. Well done Terry.
Teresa & Les: injecting some energy with Tracy Chapman's 'Give Me One Reason', Les on main vocals for 'Somebody Help Me' & then Teresa's beautiful vocals on 'Valerie'.
Pauline, Pete & Steve: making their debut as a trio!😃with a splendidly performed duo of 'Need Your Love So Bad' & 'Darkness On The Delta'.
Adam: on his 2nd Stand & Deliver performance & this time with an eclectic trio of 'Betsy The Serving Maid', 'Icarus' & 'Louisiana 1927'.
Dawn, Kevin & Steve: leaving the rock songs at home this time, but bringing the evening to a close with 'If You Think You Know How To Love Me' & 'Woodstock', before Steve swapped his bass guitar for trumpet & a rousing accompaniment on 'Dance To Thy Daddy' - otherwise known as the theme tune to When The Boat Comes In.
The final song from these 3 & of the evening was the sing-along 'Pay Me My Money Down'.
Well done everyone for sterling work on a very warm evening & especially to performers & audience members who stayed with us to the end 😁We do notice & appreciate those who support us & fellow performers to the full!! & thanks too to those who help us clear the hall at the end of the evening.
