Job Title: Shop, Delivery & Workshop Assistant
Location: The Flower Show, Kersey Mill
Reports to: Florist Team
Requirements - Full driving license.
Employment Type: Part-time. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. 9.30am - 12.30pm.
Pay; £12.21 an hour.
Start Date - Tuesday 29th July 2025.

Role Overview:
As a “Shop, Delivery & Workshop Assistant” at The Flower Show at Kersey Mill, you play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our Florist and Workshop. From making deliveries to helping customers and keeping the shop running smoothly, this role is ideal for someone with a hands-on attitude, strong organisational skills and a passion for floristry and retail.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Take telephone orders, input them into the computer system and manage paperwork to ensure the team stays up to date.
Assist customers with queries and provide friendly, helpful service in the shop.
Order Fulfilment & Delivery:
Deliver arrangements to customers, ensuring they arrive in perfect condition and on time.
Print and file orders in the shop diary for the team to prepare accordingly.
Shop & Workshop Support:
Support the team during preparation for The Flower Workshop sessions, helping with setup and logistics. The Flower Workshop is located a 2-minute drive from Kersey Mill.
Assist in arranging and maintaining floral and homeware displays in the shop and outside areas.
Water plants and set up exterior displays each morning.
Stock & Inventory Duties:
Help prepare new fresh flowers when they arrive by unpacking, conditioning and organising stock.
Maintain tidy and organised store rooms and stock areas.
Take rubbish and recycling to designated disposal areas at Kersey Mill.
Housekeeping:
Ensure the shop is clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times.
Help maintain a visually appealing and professional retail environment.
Team Support:
Run errands as needed to support daily operations.
Work closely with the floristry team to ensure a smooth workflow during busy periods and events.
Skills & Attributes:
Friendly, reliable and proactive attitude
Strong communication and organisational skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable using basic computer systems and handling administrative tasks
Physically able to lift and move stock and floral arrangements
Interest in floristry, plants, homeware or retail is a plus
Work Environment:
This role involves indoor and outdoor work, including shop duties, deliveries and occasional support at weddings and workshop events. A flexible and can-do approach is essential.
Hours & Pay:
The role is 3 mornings a week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays, 9.30am - 12.30pm.
With additional hours during peak periods and to help with holiday cover. £12.21 per hour.
