I’ve never really lived heavily on social media. Much of my career was built through trust, discretion and longstanding creative relationships.

I’ve seen things the tabloids would kill for but some moments stay exactly where they belong.

I still remember standing in the studio watching mussel and clam shells being hand-drilled one by one with a hand drill for an Alexander McQueen dress.

Around the same time, I covered every vase in fishnets for flowers and apparently became cheeky enough to say “you missed one…”

Lee’s reply was immediate:“Leave the fashion to me and the flowers to you, Michael.”

Different world. Different time.

All designed and made on site within Hedingham Castle. A Grade I listed space that can absolutely take scale when it’s done right.

Started on site from 07:30 with the bouquets.
From 09:00 the room build began, everything created in situ to sit properly with the light and scale.
Buttonholes and cake flowers wired and finished at midday, ready for a 14:00 ceremony.

Juliet and Patience roses throughout, layered with poppies, ranunculus, sweet peas and soft apricots to carry the palette across every table. Glass, repetition and density to give it presence without losing detail.

Thank you to Hedingham Castle for being such a wonderful venue to work in. Cake flowers wired fresh on the day for .

One of those installs where everything comes together on site.

Cymbidiums, always a favourite.
Strong, clean, and they last for weeks if looked after.
Just keep them away from draughts. Nothing fussy, just properly beautiful

A little reflection after a recent visit to Poland and Kraków.
This Valentine’s my diary was fully booked by a client, so I wasn’t ( not able to) able to offer my usual single-rose or three-rose gestures locally. After seeing how beautifully flowers, cakes and small gifts are treated in Poland, it reminded me how meaningful these simple traditions are.

Ipswich has a wonderful Polish community who clearly value celebration, ritual and the joy of giving — and I really appreciate that culture of care and symbolism. The Polish shop near Sainsbury - Upper Brook Street in Ipswich is currently offering beautiful cakes and apples, and it’s lovely to see that same pride and presentation here too

The one-rose or three-rose gesture has always been something I loved offering at Valentine’s, and I hope to bring that back again. Small gestures can carry so much meaning.

Thank you for the warmth and inspiration — enjoy the celebrations and the sweetness of the season . ###

It might feel a little gloomy out there with the weather – and the wider world often feels heavy too – so here’s something to brighten your day. A glimpse at some of the work created this week: fresh flowers, calm designs, and a reminder that beauty still grows quietly even when the world feels unsettled.

Some flowers stop you in your tracks.
This week it’s big, bold dahlias, tall delphinium, and the prettiest Constance David Austin roses.
And the surprise? The best wax flower (Chamelaucium uncinatum) I’ve ever had - amazing quality, full of colour and freshness.
Simple, beautiful flowers at their best.

A canopy of white elegance I dressed this marquee with clouds of gypsophila, calla lilies, orchids and crisp white blooms, bringing softness and romance to every corner. Perfectly setting the scene for a celebration filled with love and joy.
Classic, timeless, and a little bit dreamy.

The season of delphiniums and hydrangeas has begun…
Clouds of colour, tall and true, with that soft look of summer.
Cool blues, powder greens and pinks

Summer starts when the peonies are done.
The berries (rubus) begin to ripen, and the mint spreads fast. Gardens shift from flowers to fruit, and everything smells fresh and green. Here’s a beautiful scented selection of summer.
