I’ve never really lived heavily on social media. Much of my career was built through trust, discretion and longstanding creative relationships.
I’ve seen things the tabloids would kill for but some moments stay exactly where they belong.
I still remember standing in the studio watching mussel and clam shells being hand-drilled one by one with a hand drill for an Alexander McQueen dress.
Around the same time, I covered every vase in fishnets for flowers and apparently became cheeky enough to say “you missed one…”
Lee’s reply was immediate:“Leave the fashion to me and the flowers to you, Michael.”
Different world. Different time.
