Bit of shameless use of the show social media. Show secretary Tory and friends are taking to the high seas today for Needham Market Raft Race raising funds for Suffolk Mind dressed as Pop Idols Abba. This could be more of a challenge than a wet show set up or closing date for entries. The practice run went well(ish)…hopefully after today she will get back in the office and start getting going on 2027!

Well down she comes. We are all a bit tired (that could possibly be an understatement, a bit sad it’s all over for another year, and missing our friends. It comes down a lot quicker than it goes up but our incredible team have nearly finished.
The show doesn’t finish when the gates close but by the end of the week it should be tucked up ready for getting started on 2027.

Lost property will be put on social media tomorrow, the results are all on the website under “competitors, results 2026”, all artists have been paid for their sold art and we are all looking at our bowler hats longingly wishing we didn’t have to put them to bed.

Well. What do we say about Will. For starters he’s not finished yet, he’s still got a few more days of clear up to do, the post show meeting on Wednesday and then the 2027 discussions.

But until then, we can’t not pay tribute while we all remember our social media star, the one who gives in when the girls around him persuade him in to silly ideas, send him off giving things away or negotiating. For his passion for the show, for his love of the local community, for his pure joy and non stop hard work, and worrying over getting it right. Look at his fingernails, the boy can’t even do his tie up they’re that sore. So while we’ve still got people’s attention, from all of us at Hadleigh Show, we thank you for a wonderful show.

And the bowler hat goes over to our lovely Jess for the 188th show on Saturday 15th May 2027, 10 years after her husband’s year as show director. Our crafty, dancing, wine loving bundle of fun. But first a little snooze for all of us! (And probably a little cry for Will!)
