London meets Highland in this absolutely fantastic wedding between Jenny & Alan at the stunning Loch Ness Country House Hotel over this past weekend!

An outdoor ceremony was always the dream but with the week filled with rain it was looking less and less likely... However, the rain stopped and the sun finally came out just as Jenny began her walk down the aisle. Fate! The day was then filled with beautiful sunshine that complimented all the laughter, the smiles and the dancing that followed. A brilliant wedding and the light at Loch Ness was perfect!

A wild, wet, windy day on the Isle of Skye for these absolute troopers from Utah, USA!

Brynn and Caden, and their parents, hopped on a plane to spend a week in Scotland before the hillside wedding overlooking the Quiraing and watched on by a number of sheep.

The weather wasn't the kindest to us all but we pushed through the piercing rain and strong winds for a day of celebration! Even had the best timed flyby by a Royal Navy helicopter right when Caden finished his vows.

So Here We Go... Again!

Well, it looks like I’ve somehow been listed again as a finalist in the Scottish Wedding Awards, courtesy of Creative Oceanic (aka the puddle-dwelling crowd who run these so-called ā€œawardsā€).

Let’s be clear: these awards have ZERO credibility.

Anyone can vote. Your granny, her dog, your neighbour’s budgie, and yet, finalists don’t even need votes at all. I tested this myself a few years back: one of my businesses received 90 votes, another just 4… and guess which one made it to the finals? Yep, the one with 4.

After calling them out publicly back then, I was blocked from their socials. So imagine my surprise to see my name pop up again as a ā€œfinalistā€ in something I haven’t even engaged with. How that happens, I’ll let you decide.

ITV even investigated Creative Oceanic after countless suppliers were left chasing refunds for cancelled events. It’s a long-running scam dressed up as recognition, and I refuse to be associated with it or any other Vanity Award. Being on the leadership group of the Scottish Wedding Industry Alliance, this is hopefully something we will be actively fighting.

I want to make this very clear, I will never support or promote vanity awards that exist solely to make organisers money off the hard work of genuine businesses.

If you see me shouting about something, it’s because it’s real, honest, and worth celebrating, not because I paid to play.

And yes, I’ll say it plainly: any supplier still pushing or boasting about these ā€œawardsā€ while knowing the truth won’t be recommended by me. Integrity matters.

I’ll keep doing what I do best, creating beautiful work for couples who actually care about authenticity over appearances. I have a moral compass and I know exactly what way it's pointing as do plenty of my wedding supplier colleagues who have posted about these awards and many others out there. You know who you are and I'll always applaude you for speaking the truth.

Couples...these awards are paid for by bums on seats at the 'dinner' and mean nothing. Every year I have to post this and then contact the scammers at Creative Oceanic to get my name removed from their sh*t!

Don’t get me started on the ā€˜other’ awards.

Alana & Lewis met on Bumble and were both stung by love. This wedding was absolute perfection at the MacRitchie family home surrounded by loved ones. We all battled rain, wind, and even had to fend off some cows at this celebration of love. The icing on the cake was some ABBA-solutely outstanding choreographed dancing by the bridal party.

Ditching the big wedding in favour of running away and eloping? You would be hard-pressed to find a better backdrop for your small, intimate ceremony than the Scottish Highlands!

Head on over to www.highlandweddingfilm.co.uk and get in touch to find out how I can capture those special moments for you both to be able to watch them back for years to come and to share them with your friends and family. Based in Inverness, I'm right on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful elopement sites in the UK along with local knowledge of the area and less travel time than those further afield. I also film traditional venue weddings too.

This one from a couple of weeks ago at Dunscaith Castle on the Isle of Skye was a belter!

Was great to work with Penny Hardie Photography and Rev Jo Royle on the day!

"The results are nothing short of extraordinary. Cameron doesn’t just film weddings—he creates authentic, timeless art. We could never thank him enough. He is, without a doubt, the best videographer in Scotland." - Leyre & Ivan (Google Review)

Isla & Ryan are a lockdown love story having met online during the pandemic and Zoomed their way into each others hearts.

Sunderland met Caithness at this wedding just outside Wick and what a day for it too as we were blessed with glorious sunshine that perhaps confused us Scots but made the visiting English feel right at home.

It was an honour to be asked to film this wedding by Isla who is a wedding photographer herself in and around Sunderland and it was also somewhat daunting as her brother Cameron (very confusing on the day) is also a wedding videographer but everybody was so delightful and it was a pleasure to film.

Was brilliant to work with Lincoln-based photographer Lucy Bowen Photography and I hope we can work together again in the future!

"I should really get back to posting on Facebook" - Me.

The first wedding of the year was back in February at the Cairngorm Lodge Youth Hostel near Loch Morlich. Elizabeth & Matt tied the knot in one of their favourite places surrounded by family and loved ones from all over the place. They also happened to have some of the best wedding food I've ever had in the form of some outstanding Malaysian cuisine prepped by caterers all the way from Reading, England. A little bit different from the usual roast chicken/beef options!
Was great to work alongside the wonderful Alison White Photography again!
