A shout out to everyone who came to Nethy Bridge Village Hall to pay tribute to the spirit, words and works of Bob Marley on his birthday. To see and hear Mighty Oak Sound play such a beautiful selection in the hall, and with so many people coming from near and far, the atmosphere was just perfect.
To the Dundee crew, and Rosie celebrating her birthday, to the Burning Bush crew from Aberdeen, the folks from Skye, the car loads of bothy-bound dancers from Glasgow, Johnny on the bus up from Fife, to all the lovely folks from Forres, Findhorn, Inverness and of course the huge Nethy/Boat contingent, we could feel the love in the hall- everyone was there to make the night what it was.
Thanks also to Kool Runnings for the ital food, to Ross at the Dell of Abernethyfor supporting the night and hosting the artists, and to the amazing team in Nethy Bridge Hall who smashed it on all levels, and were so welcoming and lovely. Of course thanks to Ben, Jofis and Dylan who lugged a HEAVY soundystem up north and shook the very foundations of the building!
Village hall sessions are part of our DNA at Karawane, and we want to keep building these nights in places which rarely, if ever, get to experience things like this. The central belt shouldn't have all the fun, and this was not last soundsystem event in Nethy ;-)
Onwards to the next, and if you have a space and a community in which you think another adventure like this could work, then just reach out to [email protected] and we can explore that.
Much love, everyone, for continuously showing up, giving us feedback, and for letting us know that it's worth all the effort!
