I've found a new Wedding Ritual that I thought folks would like. It's definitely unique✨️ and comes all the way from Italy!🇮🇹

BREAKING GLASS- A popular ritual in Italy. The couple both have a glass each, and they are to smash it onto the ground as hard as they can. According to tradition, however many pieces the glassware breaks into symbolises how many years the couple will be married.🤯
Of course if a couple choose this Ritual they'll have to use the appropriate safety rules to make sure no one gets harmed👍
A tarp for the glass, safety goggles and permission from the venue!
I do think this Ritual would make for some interesting pictures though🤘

When I've booked a client for a Wedding Ceremony, I always ask them to fill out a "Couples Questionnaire".

This Questionnaire is split into two sections. The first is necessary questions about the wedding- Location, time, number of guests, whether I need a mic or not, etc.💖

The second section is labelled "Your Story", this is where the couple answer separately all sorts of questions I have about their relationship - How did you meet? What made you realise you wanted to marry your partner? Where do you see yourselves in 5 years’ time? What are the strengths and weaknesses of your relationship? Is there anyone in your life aside from your partner that has championed you and your relationship that you want mentioned?

Why are the Couple Questionnaires important❓️

This is where you will get the bulk of your material for your Ceremony. By having the couple separately tell their story, you will find slightly different perspectives to help personalise the Ceremony that much more.

It's also a lovely bonding moment between the couple as they get time to reflect on their partner as a whole. This can help the couple in preparation for personal vows, speeches and expressing their emotions to each other.🫶

As I've said before. Storytelling is a powerful tool that we have used for Centuries. As a Celebrant, you need to make sure you tell it right, with the respect it deserves ❤️

What a wonderful day on Saturday💜
Some of my best friends got married, and asked me to be their Celebrant!
It was an absolute honor, and thanks to Leah Thomas and Andrew Thomas for trusting me in my first Wedding Celebration🥳
It felt amazing, and definitely my calling in life!❤️

It has been a long time since I've made a post on here! I've been completely busy between both jobs and moving into my first ever home❤️
However I'm back to the grind and I am preparing for a Wedding I have booked in February🥳
When it comes to being an Officiant, there's a lot of preparation that needs to take place. You have to think of every scenario that could happen, and have a plan for everything!
So, what's the best way to learn your Ceremony?
Practice. Practice every day. Don't be afraid to show others in your close circle to give you some helpful tips to better your delivery.
Practice the rituals, the poems and everything in between!
And, although it can be a controversial opinion, involve your clients in viewing and commenting on your Ceremony. After all, you are providing this service for them, and if your clients are happy with it, then all you need to worry about is delivering the Ceremony as well as you can! 💬

Hello folks💞
Here again, with another ritual!
This one is slightly more complicated than the rest as you need a sundial😀

☀️The Sundial Ritual☀️

This is when both partners put their finger through the hole of a sundial at opposite ends until their fingers are touching. After this, the newlyweds could involve their wedding party into this unity ritual by asking them to pass a silk scarf through the hole three times whilst saying their wishes to the couple out loud.❤️

This can be meaningful for the couple as their friends and family wish for the couple to have a happy, long and fulfilling marriage 💖

Also makes for great photos, especially the old-timey sundials! ☺️

Sundial rituals can be performed anywhere, as long as there's a sundial😉 from research, Ireland still uses the sundial ritual regularly for the ceremony in weddings🇮🇪

Who has heard of the handfasting ritual?
This is one of the most popular rituals for a Wedding Ceremony🤗

Handfasting is a symbolic act that takes place during a wedding ceremony, where the hands of the happy couple are bound together with ribbon or cord, to represent their commitment to each other❤️

Whilst the couples' hands are wrapped, some like to recite vows, sing a song or read a poem🥰

Handfasting is from Celtic origin, and dates back to 7000 B.C and is popular here in Scotland and Ireland🤯

You can also keep your knot in a memory box or frame to remember the moment ❤️

Greetings🥰 I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine we have been blessed with over the past few days☀️
I am back with another ritual! This is called the "Tree-Planting Ceremony"🌳

During a section of the couples' ceremony they will together plant a tree they've picked in a location that holds meaning to them❤️

The tree symbolises the couples' relationship for strength and growth on life's unpredictable journey🤗

Couples' can also go to visit the specific tree they have planted on special occasions like their wedding anniversary. It also makes for some great wedding pictures❤️

There is no direct source of where the Tree-Planting ritual originated, but has been an ancient custom for many cultures over centuries🤯

As promised, I am back again with another wedding ritual! Last week we talked about the Scottish Oathing Stone Ritual.
This week, I would like to talk about a ritual named, "Jump the Broom".🧹

The Jump the Broom ritual is very popular to this day for a Wedding ritual. The origins of this ritual is uncertain, but many believe that it originated in West Africa as brooms were commonly used as a way to ward off evil spirits😈

A Broom is placed on the ground in front of the couple near the end of their ceremony. Once they are finished, they jump over the Broom together.

The Broom symbolises a new beginning, whilst sweeping away the past🌟 and the placement of the Broom can make beautiful wedding pictures 🥰
