It’s been a while since we’ve had one of these beauties on the bench… 🐑

This beautiful British lamb shoulder, sourced by our good friend Gordon at Mel Wards of Sleaford, has found its way into the kitchen once again 🙏

We’ve been working with Gordon and the team for well over ten years, and their commitment to sourcing exceptional British produce is one of the reasons we’re able to make the pies we do 🥧

Slow roasted with rosemary and garlic until beautifully tender, this stunning shoulder is destined for a batch of handmade pies specially requested by one of our lovely customers 🌱🔥❤️

We don’t make these very often, but when we do, we make them properly 👵

Great pies start with great ingredients. 🥧❤️

We’ve got a plethora of custom pastry orders heading out for some of our lovely regular customers, along with a selection of gift boxes 🧑‍🍳💝🎁

We also threw caution to the wind and squeezed in a couple of Mystery Boxes 🔍

🥧 MYSTERY BOXES ARE BACK 🥧

After the last drop disappeared rather quickly, we thought we’d do it again.

This time, there are two to choose from:

🥧 The Mystery Box

🌱 The Veggie Mystery Box

Each box will contain a changing mix of handmade bakes, old favourites, new ideas and a few surprises along the way.

What’s in them?

We’re not saying.

In fact, we’re still deciding on some of it ourselves.

This week has been one of those lovely, rewarding weeks that really reminds us why we chose this path ❤️

(Although… we may be planning a little detour soon. More on that later 💡🌱👀)

It’s definitely been a challenging week at times, but somehow everything aligned and the rewards have felt very real 🥰

We’ve just finished our pie order with the wonderful team at 3Q Industrial Supplies who asked us to create bespoke pies to celebrate 25 years of a business that started in a spare bedroom 👏🍺🍻

We also managed to sneak off for lunch Pip’s Chip’s 🎣🥔🌊, deliver pies to the lovely and inspiring Beauty Queen Emily 👸👑
(Lord knows we love a ginger princess around here 🤣)

Then we rounded the day off visiting the wonderful Amie at East Marsh Farm to stock up on the good stuff 🥩

Very much looking forward to making Farmer Liam’s lasagne 👀🍝

And to finish the day properly… racing home for a curry delivery from Carries Indian Bites because absolutely nobody was cooking tonight 😂

Weeks like this remind us how lucky we are to be surrounded by brilliant people, amazing local businesses, and customers who support our little handmade pie company 🥧❤️

The last couple of days should have been the most difficult for us 🤔

We had a big pie order to finish, mystery boxes and our normal pie orders 🥧👀🔍

A heatwave, equipment breakdown and our child to entertain 🔥🥵🧑‍🔧

Luckily we’re resilient and resourceful so soldiered through 💪

Our employee of the week has to go to Harriet who cracked on and helped egg wash all the pies, cut out templates, build boxes and sticker up all the pies 🥧

Ps. We paid her a fair wage 🤣🤑🧸

Slight problem though… we may have got a bit carried away in the bake room 🤣🔥
