🌾Aswanley is a place where tradition and steady innovation meet

Since 1932, the Ingleby family have been stewards of the farm in West Aberdeenshire, always looking for thoughtful ways to evolve while respecting the land. What began as a working farm has grown into something beautifully multifaceted; a mixed farming enterprise, conservation projects, and an award-winning wedding and events venue, all side by side.

From the careful restoration of historic steadings into a wedding space welcoming up to 250 guests, to sustainable initiatives like biomass heating, micro-hydro power, agroforestry and the planting of over 95,000 native trees, Aswanley is built on long-term thinking rather than quick wins.

Today, the farm balances breeding ewes, cattle, crops and moorland with weddings, holiday cottages, and unforgettable guest experiences. All driven by a genuine passion for people, place and purpose.

Aswanley isn’t just a venue. It’s a working farm, a family legacy, and a commitment to doing things properly, now and for generations to come.

With 20 years of wedding experience behind us, we’ve experienced it all and we’re very happy to share the secrets to unforgettable celebrations.

❄️ Around 50cm of snow in a few short days ❄️
Beautiful? Absolutely.
A pest? Also yes.

The landscape is looking spectacular, but what’s really stood out is the local community; roads may be white, but thanks to some incredible effort they’re clear enough for people to get safely from A to B.

Closer to home, the Aswanley farm team have been full throttle, clearing paths and access routes so that viewings can still go ahead. Snow or no snow, the kettle’s on and the doors are open.

That’s a wrap for Aswanley’s 2025 season! 💫

We jumped straight into the Christmas spirit, celebrating with the incredible team who work so hard to make every Aswanley wedding seamless. There were sparkles, Aswanley lamb on the menu (beautifully cooked by Val Morrison), lots of jolly snowmen and even a splash of Tequila Rose… naturally. ✨

An enormous thank you to all the team and to all the wonderful 2025 couples who chose Aswanley as their Home for the Day.
