Huddersfield Carnival

Huddersfield Carnival Huddersfield African Caribbean Cultural Trust (HACCT). Registered Charity Number 1188155

Huddersfield African Caribbean Cultural Trust or HACCT
The overall aim of the Trust is to advance, promote, encourage and develop appreciation of and participation in African – Caribbean Culture including Carnival and street arts, their traditions, music and crafts. To achieve this, there had to be a modification of the structure of HACCT and it was thought best that the carnival had its own commi

ttee to lead Huddersfield Carnival. The Carnival Management Committee (CMC) was formed, adding new voices, fresh concepts and establishing a foundation of passionate individuals of the Huddersfield community. Our goal is to celebrate, cultivate and advocate for the African and Caribbean culture in Huddersfield. We strive to commemorate our richness in diversity and cultural history, whilst also aiming to advance our future as a community, strategizing ways to promote togetherness. We recognise the that the significant of Carnival is rooted in the congruence of our community, consequently we aim to bring people together in many ways other than the annual Carnival. We will host a variety of events celebrating Afro-Caribbean history, traditions, arts, talents and much more. In doing so, we hope to promote community involvement and secure a positive, enjoyable and momentous Carnival for years to come.

We would like to wish Clare IJ a blessed day when she plays mas on Monday at Leeds carnival in hopes to raise funds that can be used towards our anticipated Huddersfield Carnival 2027!

Clare is normally a masquerader with Callaloo Carnival Arts UK but is supporting Phoenix Mas Band Huddersfield as they complete their last lap of their carnival tour.

Clare hopes to raise funds to support the Legacy Steel Band to get on the road for carnival - she has a leadership role with this group who fall under our HACCT umbrella.

Clare has an impressive catalogue in terms of her support and fundraising efforts with Huddersfield carnival and has volunteered heavily in some of the previous carnivals we have held in more recent times, including our “Vibe Alive” event. Clare continues to be a Carnival committee member and is very passionate about supporting all efforts to ensure Huddersfield gets back on the road!

To donate follow the links below in Clare’s post.

Good luck Clare , we respect, applaud and appreciate your continued efforts

HACCT is delighted to announce that we are well on our way to reaching our fundraising target for Huddersfield Carnival 2027!

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our trustees, we have successfully secured £100,000 of funding from Arts Council England. This is a huge milestone, but we still need to raise the final £50,000 to make Carnival 2027 a reality.

Our trustees are actively applying for additional funding opportunities, and alongside this we will be launching a range of fundraising initiatives. We will be sharing updates, events and campaigns across our social media channels, so please:

Follow us, Share our posts & Support our fundraising efforts where you can.

Huddersfield Carnival is a much-loved Caribbean cultural celebration that belongs to the whole community. To get this spectacular event back on the road, we need your support.

If you would like to fundraise on our behalf, sponsor the event, or have a great fundraising idea, we'd love to hear from you.
