Nathan was never a man to do things by halves and his celebration of life certainly proved that today. His epic entrance in a transit van with his beloved JCB digger bringing up the rear really set the tone.
Despite the unbelievable sadness of a man taken far too soon, we continued his ceremony in the spirit of his arrival and brought some fun, some laughter and some happiness and even some dancing, ( yes there was that too )to his funeral service.
Nathan was quite a character who didn’t just live life but grabbed it with both hands. He was a true force of nature and blew through life like a mini tornado, wild unstoppable and full of character. He had a wonderful spirit and had a heart as big as he was.
He will be missed beyond measure. His family gave him the best send off and through laughter and tears, through stories and music, personal and heartfelt tributes by his close family and in the company of those who knew him best we celebrated his life.
It’s not surprising that the family chose a Happy Hardcore classic to close the service Heart of Gold by Force and Styles (feat Jenna)
I ended his tribute with this quote by Hunter S Thompson: ‘Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ‘wow, what a ride’
Rest easy Nathan - your ride here may be over but your legacy will roar on into the future A big thank you to FD Fleur Tanner and her team at Simpsons and Charles Wood Funeral Directorsfor their support, compassion and professionalism as always.
