Meknes to Fes

Our route today took us on the RN ? road. Fes is 70km from M so we made an early start, sun was not quite up and it was wonderfully cool. We cycled through the gate way out the medina and said goodbye to Meknes. It’s a beautiful city and we will have great memories. I would like to come back to M and see it when all the renovations are finished.

The road to Fes was busy with traffic but as always we felt quite safe cycling along the edge of the road. Thankfully there were few hills and the air felt cool with a smattering of rain! We are in the Middle Atlas and the landscape is greener, rolling and more populated.

Arrived in Fes at 1pm and found our riad in the old medina. We will shortly be met by a group of friends from Brighton and we’ll spend 3 days here together.
