We have a variety of rooms available to hire out for various different functions. The Saddlery is perfect for a meeting venue, but also can be used for birthday parties at a maximum of 20 children. The saddlery is also used for various keep fit groups and music groups we have on a regular basis at the centre. The Hall is a large space and also has the use of a kitchen, therefore we have lunches wh

ich volunteers come and prepare a meal for the public on a Tuesday as well as our Tuesday toddler group. The Hall is also used as a great space for a variety of keep fit, exercise and martial arts groups not to mention St Johns Cadets. It currently is used as a meeting room, a teaching facility, a exercise room and various other things. We have projectors, laptops, microphones, speakers etc. at your convenience. Why not come and have a look if our rooms are just what you need for your class?

Horwich Community Centre
Time: 18:30-20:00

Join us to discuss access on the Smithills Estate, helping us to create an access plan and guide future changes and improvements.

Developing on previous feedback we are reviewing how people access the Smithills Estate. We want to ensure the right access in the right places for the health of our local ecosystems and people.

We are gathering qualitative data on thoughts and ideas for the Smithills Estate. This includes any wants and needs from key users and marginalised groups.

At the meeting, you will join focus groups of 4-8 people to discuss questions about how the Smithills Estate could be improved, as well as any positives you’d like to highlight. Each group will share their thoughts with the room, and there will also be an open discussion where you can ask questions or raise any final points.

We aim to gather feedback from people living in the specified location. If you are unable to attend the consultation in your local area but are keen to share your thoughts, you can join another session.

You can also get involved in our access work online by filling in our survey, including entering our prize draw. We recommend you do this before attending in person.

As you know Sue Denton runs the Tuesday Lunch Club here at the Community Centre every Tuesday 12.00pm – 1.00pm which includes a hot meal, pudding and drink for Β£4.50, followed by bingo 1.00pm – 1.30pm at Β£1.00.

Unfortunately due to ill health Sue has decided that after December she will no longer be able to run the club, coupled with the fact that some of the current volunteers who help out with serving and washing up are also elderly and have health issues.

Sadly this means that unless we can find somebody to step forward and replace Sue and also find some more volunteers it is more than likely that there will be no lunch club from next January.

If you’re interest, you can contact either Sue on 01204 452989 or alternatively the Community Centre Manager on 01204 668157.
