April I’m ready for you! As we get into the swing of our Spring weddings starting this week, it’s time to celebrate all that April flowers have to offer.
I’m a real fan of pale blues and small headed flowers. Muscari, Oxypetalum, Ranunculs,Thlaspi and Mini Daisies.

G&D wedding day was held at the stunning which you can see from the photos how lovely the gardens look this time of year. Great to work with some amazing suppliers too 🫶

Not long now before we start the longer days, lighter nights and our summer weddings of 2026 will begin.
After a beautiful weekend, the sunshine just lifts us all ❤️

Loving these beautiful photos from G&C’s Wedding Day at Botley Hill Barm taken by my very good friend Jonny MP 📸

These two gorgeous souls were a joy to work with, over 18 months from when they booked me to the day itself, the barn was full of love and smiles all round.
G&C choose a timeless style with season white florals.

We can’t wait to be back at Botley soon 🫶

Join me at Gate Street’s Spring Open Day this Sunday, 8th March.

I’ll be in the Main Barn showcasing one of the venue’s standout features — the four beautiful chandeliers. Over the years we’ve had the pleasure of installing some incredible designs as a trusted supplier, and I’ll be sharing a few of our favourites along with some new inspiration for the upcoming season.

I’ll also be taking you behind the scenes to show how the magic comes together.

If you’re visiting the open day, come and say hello and get inspired for your big day. ✨

🌸 1. Your Budget (and Where You Want to Spend It)

Wedding flowers can vary hugely in cost depending on flower type, quantity, and design complexity. Being clear on budget early allows your florist to suggest alternatives or substitutions that still achieve your look. For example, larger blooms (like hydrangeas or peonies) can fill arrangements with fewer stems, helping reduce cost.

Also, being flexible on specific flower types (rather than insisting on one exact bloom) often helps keep costs under control.

🌿 2. Season & Availability

Seasonality is one of the biggest factors in price, quality, and sustainability. Flowers that are out of season usually need importing, which increases cost and can reduce freshness.

Choosing flowers that are naturally in bloom around your wedding date usually means:
• Better quality
• Lower cost
• More environmentally friendly options

🏛️ 3. Your Venue & Overall Style

Your venue should influence your floral design. For example:
• Large or high-ceiling venues → bigger or taller arrangements
• Rustic or barn venues → hanging or relaxed arrangements
• Decor-heavy venues → simpler florals may work best

If flowers don’t match the space, they can look out of place or get visually lost.

We often get asked - what happens to the flowers the next day? 🧐 as we say in our floral menus we always do our utmost to make flowers as easy as possible to transport away from the venue. Floral columns are the perfect example where we take all the flowers from the original arrangement and re-tie them into manageable sized bouquets so as many of your guests can take them home to enjoy them.
We receive so many cards of thanks commenting how well the flowers have lasted. With the right care wedding flowers do last and can be enjoyed a little longer after the celebrations are over - and who doesn’t love a bunch of flowers?!💐💐
