Have you got Wednesday the 2nd September in your diary? The Archway bar will be open to our members and offers a chance for cast and creatives of our last two productions to catch up and socialise.
Why not come along, grab a drink and have a chat? The first part of the evening will include a little update about upcoming events across our studio and main house, followed by a short chat around our outdoor production at Tilgate.
There will then be plenty of time to socialise and catch up with friends old and new!

Take a sneak peak into our rehearsals for Vocation which opens in just over two weeks!

What does vocation mean in a changing NHS? Find out in this bittersweet and relevant comedy. Old School Surgery is a chaotic GP practice, struggling to meet the needs (and demands!) of its patients, and run by an overstretched but committed workforce who sometimes adopt unorthodox strategies to cope. Enter Kiera – an idealistic trainee doctor who is excitedly embarking on a career in general practice…

We are immensely excited to be staging the premiere of the latest play written by Lucy, a practising doctor. The play is set in a GP surgery in the current day.

The test was simple: can they guess the dance, just by the noise of the dancer's feet behind them.

This month's SHOW will feature two sets from our recent Narrative Improv Course and an improv jam! In an improv jam anyone who attends Dingbats Improv workshops can jump on stage with other improvisers to have fun making up scenes and stories together. Caryl and Merion have lived in this picture-perfect Welsh village for years - raising a family and repeatedly decorating, while watching their community slowly disappear. Now Caryl wants to escape, but Merion definitely wants to stay. Is it loyalty? Belonging? Or a dark secret that will keep them here forever?

Lucy Lovatt’s dark comedy about love, marriage and feeling trapped in your own life is her first full length play, having spent many years as a creative producer in the West End and offers a fresh and funny take on place, family and the ties that bind communities together.

Rhinoceros Workshop - Explore the Herd Mentality!
20th September 2-5pm Function Room

Playing March 30th-April 12th 2027, auditions will be December 2026.

Rhinoceros is an absurdist comedy with an underlying anti-facist theme.

The script reads a little dry so I hope to bring it alive and muster enthusiasm for the auditions by sharing my vision for this play with you in a lively afternoon workshop. Everyone is welcome, whether you are considering auditioning, or just curious. Potential backstage crew are also welcome to play!

We will be workshopping scenes from the script with movement, character and sound effects. We will be looking at ways to update the jokes and cultural references. You will get a chance to read parts you might later audition for - or other parts just for fun. There will be masks, kazoos and watermelon!

You are welcome for the whole session, or dip in and out to suit your availability. Please let me know when/who to expect so I can plan the session accordingly but you are also welcome to turn up last minute! Let’s explore the herd mentality!
