Hotbox Events Festival jobs and volunteering at the best events in the UK! We recruit and manage staff and volunteers for UK festivals and events.

Our first event was Leeds Festival in 2003, since then we've grown from a small team of just 6 volunteers to over three thousand staff and volunteers every year! Our management team has been recruiting and managing staff and volunteers for music festivals and live events since the early 90s. We recruit and manage teams of up to 850 at our current events, working in the campsites, on fire towers, gates, wristband exchanges and in the arenas.

🚨 SHIFT PREFERENCE SELECTION 🚨
..is not open yet! 😉

We're receiving lots of questions about when you can pick your shifts and start planning your festival schedule! 🎪

Shift preference selection opens a few weeks before each festival, typically around 2-3 weeks although this can vary from event to event.

There's not an exact date shift preference selection opens as it depends on when we receive final confirmation from the festival organisers of the exact number of volunteers they would like in each area of the festival site on each day of the festival. We will always try to open shift preference selection as early as we can once we've received final schedule sign off.

Once shift preference selection for each festival is open, we'll send you an email and post on our socials, repeatedly! It will be very hard for you to miss it!

There will be around 20-30 different shift patterns to rank in order of most to least preferable. We give you around a week to select your shift preferences and then it takes us around a week to work through everyone's preferences and allocate shifts.

Shifts are allocated based on shift preferences in conjunction with deposit payment date, so the earlier you pay your deposit to confirm your place, the best chance you have of securing your top preference shift pattern! 🎉

🚨 Number #1 piece of advice volunteers tell us they wish they knew before the festival? 🚨

🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🚶 Get walking! 🚶🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Whilst there are always static or seated positions on shift for those who need them, the festival sites are HUGE and even off-shift you'll be walking all over them to get to the arena, village, catering, campsites and anywhere else you want to explore! 🗺️

Most of the shifts will be spent walking around campsites or the arena, so trust us when we say you'll be getting your steps in! 👣

You'll have a much more enjoyable festival experience if you're comfortable on your feet for long periods, even if it's just to hold your spot in the crowd at the main stage for a few hours! 🕺

So now's your warning, make the most of the lighter evenings and warmer weather, ensure your walking boots are well worn in and head out for some festival training walks! 🥾
