MEET THE NGAGE FAMILY — ASH WATKIN

You’ve heard the voice. You know the country tunes. And if there’s a cowboy hat involved… chances are Ash Watkin isn’t far away!

But how does a 51-year-old lorry driver from Shropshire go from life on the road to life on the radio?

Ash lives in Shropshire with his wife Emma and daughter Charlotte, and is also dad to Rebecca and very proud grandad to Finley.

Radio, though? That was something he’d always wanted to try.

There was just one problem…

He didn’t think he had the confidence to do it.

Then, around three and a half years ago, fellow Ngage presenter Dickie Bourne gave him the push he needed, persuaded him to give it a go and helped him get started.

And the rest, as they say, is radio history!

With Dickie giving him that first nudge and Danny giving him the opportunity, Ash found his place behind the mic and we reckon it suits him rather well!

Lorry driver by day.

Radio presenter by night.

Country legend whenever required.

But we’re only scratching the surface…

What was Ash’s first ever show like?
Which artist would he drop everything to interview?
