Inspiring story ❤️

Today we say goodbye to one of our longest-serving members. 😢

After seven years running Frome Eco Party Kit (Frome Eco Party Kit - Equipment hire for low-waste celebrations), Tillie is handing over her apron. And while we’ll miss her, the impact she’s had reaches far beyond Frome.

Most of you know how this works: borrow a kit of reusable plates, cups and decorations, throw your party, return it for the next party. Simple. However, Tillie’s kit was the spark for something bigger. It was her conversation with Jen Gale on the Sustainable-ish podcast (Jen Gale) that planted the seed for what became our global network.

We hear often that individual actions don’t matter. That we need systemic change, not personal effort. There is truth in that.

But…

I’ve watched this community long enough to know that influence starts with people willing to try something. Tillie started hosting parties differently, talking about waste, inspiring others to do the same. And then it spread.

Party kits won’t solve our waste crisis alone. But they do something quietly powerful - they show communities that sharing is not only be better for the planet, but can actually be really joyful.

Party kits spark conversations. They inspire people to look at other changes they can make.

Thank you Tillie 💚

And a BIG welcome, Gina, who will be the new custodian for Frome Eco Party Kit 🥳

Thank you Letchworth Garden Shed !!

The more party options, the more parties!

Eurydice got in touch about her brand-new Party Kit hire, located in central Hitchin, and it looks AMAZING. Plates, cutlery, jugs and more, along with decoration packs, for up to 50 people. The Shed's long-term followers (hello there you - looking good! You done something to your hair?) will be familiar with the two party kits we lend out, one in enamel and one in decorated recycled plastic, with 12 sets of plates and cups each (alongside the tables, water urn, gazebos, etc). Your shindig might be expecting more than 12 people, though. You might need cutlery, or jugs. Or ours might just be already booked out. In which case, Hitchin Party Kit has got you covered. This is another way we as a community can dodge all that nasty plastic-covered paper partyware that fills up multiple black bin bags straight after the event, and we are HERE. FOR. IT.
