The Balmoral Show is on this week. Local flower growers are giving demonstrations using sustainable locally grown flowers. in addition CAFRE students are also giving demonstrations. these events showcase the quality of locally grown products.

Sadly these beauties are over for this year. The seasonal flowers have now finished for 2021 and the honesty box is empty. Thanks to my supportive customers throughout the season. Eucalyptus will be available in the box during December and spruce can be bought by messaging.

These little jewels help to remind me that spring is here. These are early short stemmed tulips which have survived the wind.

This wonderful dry spell has pushed everything forward. Listen to the birds. My buzzards are noisy and flying lots.

My honesty box was smashed by a car during the icy weather. Of course no one claimed responsibility. Thanks to the kindness of neighbours the bits were returned.

What a fabulous restoration Les Carson has accomplished. It is now re-installed on the Ballygowan Road at the Hollow Bridge Farm. Now that spring is here I look forward to being able to stock it with locally grown, airmile free flowers in the near future.

This fabulous Amaryllis has just started to flower and cheer up dreary days. Ok- I didn’t vote for Brexit, but as a biologist I understand the need for and all island strategy to keep pests and diseases out of the island if Ireland. But the NI protocol means that I can no longer bring in seeds, bulbs or plants from GB. Absolutely crackers .

A variety of foliage now being cut. Suitable for Christmas wreaths, table centres and flower arrangements. £5 per generous bunch. Text, email or ring Materials to be collected from the flower shed using social distancing to keep us all safe.
Larger orders need a couple of days notice if at all possible as I prefer to cut dry foliage.
