STOP! what happened to April?
here's a little snippet of what we got up to in April....
F A B U L O U S wedding for C & G at Matfen Hall, my right hand florist Alix taking the lead on this beautiful wedding and assisted by Susie on the day to set up.
We welcomed the lovely Zoe to our weekly volunteer group at the walled garden - as well as superb pricking out skills guided by owa Chrissie and of course she bakes a SUPERB carrot cake 🥕 🍰 too!
We held our 6th tulip pick your own - yes 6th! we've been doing these lovely relaxed pick your own moments for 6 years now 🌷
Seed sowing eat sleep repeat
Pricking out....eat sleep repeat
We've almost finished the overdue projects at the walled garden thanks to Dave - The Border Weeder based in Redesdale.
We've planted snapdragons, orlaya, anenome, snaps, lissianthud, ranunculus, larkspur, corncockle, ammi, sweet williams and much more thanks to Sue my right hand gardener 💪
it started to get hot 🔥 and hotter and hotter as it always does in April so the daily dance of checking literally thousand of seedlings becomes a ritual....too much watering can rot the roots, too little puts the plants under stress and make the plant weak and susceptible to pest and disease so its a fine balance not to be rushed
delivered farewell flowers sympathy, happy birthday and anniversary bouquets across the North Tyne Valley from Wark to Bellingham, Kirkheaton, Kirkharle, Belsay, Capheaton, Cambo, Elsdon, Birtley, Chollerford, Barrasford and many more places in between. Delivered gorgeous weekly flowers to Matfen Hall and bouquets to NUFC.
collected thousands of baby plants as part of my buying group for fellow flower farmers from Worksop to Aberdeenshire, it also tops up my tank to catch up with the younger generations of upcoming professional flower farmers 🌱🪻
headed down to Birmingham to celebrate my mum's 80th...
the month ended somewhat different to what we were expecting....with a bit of a bang and a bump 😫
