The First Thursday Folk Club (FTFC) is an acoustic music night that welcomes all players and singers of all abilities. Musical styles range from traditional folk songs to modern covers and original songs, any acoustic instrument can be brought along. We aim to provide a friendly atmosphere and play "in the round" , that is taking it in turns. You can, of course ask to be accompanied by one , or mo

re of the musicians present, but if you don't ask, we won't join in. The TTFC meets on the 1st Thursday of the month (!) in the lounge bar of the Great Eastern Tavern in Hertford from 8.30, please come along, audiences welcome too.

September's First Tuesday is on the first day of the month, immediately following the Bank Holiday. So you'll have had a day to recover from the Not the Musical Mystery Tour (or whatever it's called now) and get to the Great Eastern on Tuesday evening.

It'll be an evening of excellent music, live and spontaneous, sparkling craic and (hopefully) the best chip butties in the county. Come along to sing, to play or simply to listen. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

We kick off at some point a little after 8pm and finish when we run out of steam. Come early and get a good place.

It's coming up to August, so maybe you're off enjoying a holiday. If you're really lucky, though, you might instead be available for the First Tuesday Folk Club.

Join us on Tuesday 4th at the Great Eastern in Hertford. Bring along your voice, your instruments (as many as you like) or simply your ears, to enjoy an evening of great music, great craic and (hopefully) the best chip butties in Hertford.

Don't worry about how good you are or what kind of music you play. As long as it's live and genuine, we want to hear you.

Happy 1st of July, and you know what that means — a First Tuesday coming up.

On Tuesday 7th, we be having our monthly get-together at the Great Eastern Tavern in Hertford, for an evening of music, conviviality and (hopefully) chip butties. Whether you want to sing, play or just listen, you're very welcome to join us. We welcome everyone from seasoned performers to absolute beginners — there's no judgement.

We start at around 8pm, but the earlier you get there, the better seat you're likely to get. So see you Tuesday evening.

If you can spare the attention from turning into a well-done steak, it's a new month next week, and that includes the First Tuesday.

Joint us on Tuesday 2nd for our month evening of shared music and constructive anarchy. Whether you sing, play or just want to listen, you're very welcome to come along and join in. All music is welcome - as long as you can do it spontaneously without a sound-system or an autotune, it's folk.

Once you've done being jolly and seeing in the May in the traditional way, it's the First Tuesday of the month. And that means another kind of tradition - an evening of great music, great chat and (probably) great chip butties at the Great Eastern in Hertford.

Everyone's welcome, whether you want to sing, play or just listen, and we're not too particular about what kind of music we listen to, as long as you can play it in a crowded bar. And don't worry if you're an absolute beginner - we'll give you all the support you need.

We kick off round about 8pm and go on till some point after 11. So why not come along for a great evening?
