Post time, about bloody time, anyone else feel like socials have been left in the dust I just haven't put up half as much as normal, ive not taken as many pictures ive just been in the moment.

But the dahlias have been amazing slow to start they are now absolute giants, im scared the wet windy cold will get them any day so im enjoying everyday with them, ive ordered some really lovely ones for next year snd will have plenty from this year for sale soon.

More progress on the drive, i now have a real drive you can actually touch it, not only that you can drive on it all winter, i still pinch myself with the workshop, have actual electricity and now a drivable drive, i know these maybe small steps but the time money energy and love put into each step is crazy and its all a part of me that ive only ever dreamed of.

Im looking forward to bulb planting time, well my back isn't, there's double the tulips ready for pick your own tulips next spring which I hope to see lots of you again, such a fun spring event

But for today its a bbq in the woods with family kinda say I think

Happy Sunday 😊

Im useless i know ive not put an actual post up for probably as many days as we've not had rain which is to many, its dismal dry to hot and we desperately need some wet stuff but as much as some flowers are not enjoying themselves there are others that just keep on going and im so thankful to those.
Im lucky I have irrigation for most of my main beds but its so dry its not really touching the roots and im still having to water alot by hand, even with water the heat is cooking the flowers to a crisp from the top, it can't keep on like this surely.

It was my birthday yesterday so I treated myself to alot of beautiful echinacea im hoping they will enjoy this weather and thrive for next year. adjustments are needed, more shade netting, more beds in shaded spots, every year you over come one hurdle to be faced with another but I love a challenge and I won't be beaten, not yet anyway I still love what I do and will adapt and over come whats thrown at me.

How are you all coping with the weather ?

Hope everyone survived the heat 🥵 🔥
Lots of early mornings and the hose over my head, the plants coped far better than me.
Theres so many flowers in the field the heat has made everything pop.
The first few dahlias have started but they are a long way off being in full swing, lots more bits planted out today now its cooled down slightly and all my biennials sown and tucked away from the sun.
Everything has been weeded and preened ready for the NGS open garden yesterday which is raising money for some great causes, we had such a good turn out, so many first visits to a flower farm.
Ive also been asked alot about workshops, we are working on some great one which will be in my website soon, if there's any workshops you'd like to see please let me know.

Serious summer blooms are now here.
Im getting everything ready for open garden next Sunday 28th for the The National Garden Scheme not only for a great cause but kicks my butt into getting all those little jobs ticked off, trying to get as much planted out and out the polytunnel, zinnas went in, amaranthus Statice more sunflowers and I really need to start my biennials this week.
Im not looking forward to the heat wave coming 34 on Thursday, its going to be alot of early mornings to get everything picked and sorted the flowers will cope better than me lol.

Keep cool 😎

Exhausted but so so proud, this week has been mammoth for me.
When people ask what I do I always say im a flower farmer/ grower im not an events florist I trained in floristry basics and mainly self taught its why I decided to grow flowers for florists in the first place, to give everyone the chance to use scented unique amazing flowers.
Over the last 8 years ive done alot of weddings and events only small, just bouquets, table decorations and lots of diy buckets, im safe with that although I do love a milk churn display.
Its not that I don't want to its just being a grower means picking for florist orders for their weddings that week picking for all other orders then picking for my bride, making up that wedding set up take down and the bigger the wedding the more time this takes, time I don't have much of, thats not to mention the growing side of the flowers, the weeding grass cutting (that needs doing desperately) watering the list is endless but this week i had the best time making a giant pink broken arch and wedding flowers , thank you for letting me use your arch so sad you were ill and couldn't help but came to my rescue, I love my flowery friends who have helped me along the way, shared tips and tricks and made me feel calm when I could cry.
Also this week a big order for hayley , posies and cut stems,
Bouquet orders and baby shower flowers for
Now to get next week sorted 👌

I did finally get the dahlias in the ground and pot on a load of babies ive also ordered my biennials and any perennials I want to try from seed, there's always space for somthing new.

Here's to a cooler productive week ahead

May Bank holiday the weathers absolutely gorgeous i wish I had a swimming pool lol, I will settle for the hose over my head.

What a week busiest this year and as much as I like to stay tucked away in my field the flowers have partied hard this week

Firstly my edible flowers along with made their way to to be used by to promote her new book.
Ive never been to Chelsea and always said when I get an invite for press day I will go so maybe just maybe one year that will happen but a part of me was there this year in flowers.

Then popped in to pick up flowers London bound to with and other British growers .lane

Mid week was wedding prep and the temperatures started rising which meant 5am picking, best time of the day, so many beautiful flowers picked, sunsets tones for
Festival vibes for
Pastels for

And last but not least for her diy wedding, have the best day guys.

Oh and not to forget farmshop flowers to and a few bouquets to finish me off.

Next week isn't quite so crazy but I do need to plant the dahlias out and its looking even hotter.

Happy bank holidays, its a day off and bbq I feel today
