OK, OK, drinking fizz and going to awards is part of the role, but it’s a teeny tiny part.

My main jobs are what you don’t see, happening behind the scenes.

And that’s the point.

While you’re enjoying your wedding weekend, I’m there making sure everything we’ve chatted about, planned and dreamed up actually happens.

Checking and rechecking the details.
Keeping an eye on timings.
Making sure suppliers know what’s happening.
Making sure the day flows as it should.

Because your wedding day isn’t the time to be worrying about what happens next.

You should be fully present.
Drinking fizz.
Dancing.
Getting married.

You enjoy the weekend. I’ll keep it all flowing 💚✨

One for the flower lovers 🌷

I’m no florist, but after watching plenty of clever florists do their thing, I’ve definitely taken notes. We’re big believers that you don’t need flowers everywhere to make an impact.

We are striving to be as sustainable as possible and save you a few pennies, so here are a few tips we’ve picked up along the way…

🌿Choose ones you really love (in season), put them where they’ll make the biggest difference and repurpose where you can.

🌿 Use potted plants so they can be taken home or give them to your guests as favours. Or hire plants do a massive selection and collect them all on Sunday.

🌿 Turn your arrangements into little bunches and send them home with your guests as a thank you. Then everyone leaves with a bit of your wedding.

🌿 Repurpose them - move ceremony or church flowers to the tipis and give them a whole new job for the evening.

🌿 Use foraged foliage and greenery and where appropriate, compost afterwards. Just make sure it’s free from floral foam, wire, ribbons, plastic and chemicals.

🌿Make full use of the bouquets and keep them fresh for photos by having vases ready for them. had a genius idea of hiding the vases in the flower arrangements at the front of the sweetheart table. I popped them in there after the ceremony to finish off the display.

🌿Grow your own or delegate to a keen gardener friend. Call in the favours 😉

I nearly didn’t share these reviews… because talking about yourself is a bit erm awkward isn’t it?! 😅

But when I started reading through our recent Google reviews, I noticed something.

Yes, couples talk about how beautiful The Orchard is but so many of them talk about the people. About me and my team and feeling looked after, not only on their day, but throughout the planning journey too. About being able to relax and actually enjoy their wedding.

And this one…

“The staff were more like guests than staff.” 🥹

We’re there for all the unglamorous stuff happening behind the scenes, the fixing, sorting, checking, clearing, organising, solving, so you can forget about all of that and just be at your wedding.

The tipis and the orchard might be what brings you through the gate…

But knowing that you’re in capable hands?
That’s what I’m most proud of.

So, thank you to every couple who has taken the time to leave us a review and mention the team 💚

And if you’ve been thinking about coming to see us, don’t leave it too long…

The tipis are coming down soon and 6th September is our last viewing date this season. We will be offering viewings over the winter but without the tipis.

The tipis are coming down in September 👋 🥹

We’ve still got some summer weekends available next year, plus our last few viewings this month.

Oh did I mention we’ve got 60 five-star Google reviews and only host 15 weddings a year between May-September.

This was never some big master plan.

We simply got married on our family farm because it meant so much to us. We wanted a relaxed day outdoors, surrounded by the people we love.

Afterwards, friends started saying we should open the gates to other couples who want a similar vibe.

So in 2019 we did it (really bad timing I know 🤦‍♀️) but we are still here and now every summer I get front row seats to amazing weddings and meet gorgeous couples in our corner of beautiful Herefordshire.

It’s still a bit surreal that our wedding started all of this and couples choose our farm to get married 🥹

Thank you 🙏🏻 to all of you.

BTW wedding blues hit me too you know 🥹. I don’t think I could cope doing anymore than 15 as it’s too emosh!
