Today was a particularly personal funeral tea. Nicki's nanny Jeanie. It meant a lot to me (Nicki) to make her funeral tea something personal. So we included all the things we had for tea at Nanny's house. Lemon barley water squash, milky tea, pickled onions, celery with salt to dip, proper cooked gammon with marmalade and mustard, followed by Nanny's boiled fruit cake recipe made by my mum, and sponges made by other nan. Hopefully did her proud today. ❤️

An afternoon tea selection heading out of the Cookhouse door yesterday 🍰 From homemade cake and freshly baked scones to homemade quiches and sausage rolls. Even the chutney is ours along with our home cured salmon in the sandwiches! Topped off with local strawberries and raspberries from just up the road.
