The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House

The Old Milking Parlour at Cavokay House As the name suggests, the building is a former milking parlour dating from the 1700s. It is built of local stone and so retains it's olde-world rustic charm.

📍Beautiful rustic barn wedding venue on the Somerset/Dorset border.

Access to the twelve-acre grounds is included in the hire price. There are lawns, woods, a stream, winding paths and sun-dappled glades. Panoramic country views abound. L and D's special day here at Cavokay was merely days past midwinter.

They had traveled all the way from their Australian home for their church ceremony in the village where L grew up.

They arrived in the UK just a few days before the big day, having done almost all of their wedding planning from down under - thank goodness for emails and Whatsapp!

L and D chose the superb as their photographer and I just adore this gorgeous image of them in our woods, looking so incredibly glamorous.

L and D, thank you for choosing Cavokay for your beautiful wedding reception and for allowing us to share moments from the day.

So inviting!

From J and S's special day here at Cavokay the marvellous has captured the essence of the quintessential English country wedding in in spring.

In the foreground, the top table, and sitting there just waiting to be enjoyed, a stand full of delicious savouries and sweet treats created using local ingredients by our wonderful approved caterer who also supplied that pretty vintage bone china crockery.

Our superb bar supplier supplied the glassware and the jugs of refreshing Pimms that were added to the tables just before guests took their seats.

The bride's bouquet, was not only arranged, but also grown just up the road in East Stour by Old Chapel Flowers. By the time those blooms had traveled from the plot where they were grown, to the bride and then to the church and from the church to here at Cavokay they had probably traveled fewer than ten miles.

Thank you to J and S for allowing us to share this moment from such a wonderful day.

"Nice weather for ducks"

The wonderful captured raindrops rippling the water of our hook a duck game on J and S's special day here at Cavokay last month.

The heavens absolutely opened just before the guests arrived and the rain persisted for quite a while. But despite the weather, our overwhelming memories of their day are of all the fun.

So many more beautiful and fun moments to share from the day, but for now, given the rain hammering on the kitchen window as I type this, ducks seemed rather topical.

Huge thanks to J and S for allowing us to share images from your day💐

Dance floor fun from J & S's special day here at Cavokay.

Guests filled the dance floor whilst our fab house DJ RS Sound and Entertainment worked the decks.

Such a memorable day. Thank you so much, J and S for allowing us to share these moments.
