I know I said no more flowers but… This vase of “leftovers” hangs out on the edge of mellow yellow and creamy buff, with painterly raspberry smudges. The stars of the show for me here are the gorgeous annual phlox, which now have lovely long, twisty stems. I thought they were over for the year but they keep coming! I sowed three varieties: crème caramel, crème brûlée and blushing bride.

The apricot lemonade cosmos have been harder to use this year, blooming in quite a tart, limey yellow. However, viewed from the underside, with the light infusing through their blushing pink-striped petals… chef’s kiss 👌

Not all autumn flowers are bright and bold, wham bam blooms 💥 These delicate phlox, cynoglossum and cosmos dance among the soft tones of the sunflowers and dahlias in this special bouquet. The garden is definitely calming down now but there are still treasures to be found.

Further to my reel the other day, about how we were “hanging in there”…

Well this is what that looks like - swipe for more. Thankfully there were still plenty of stunning blooms in the garden and field for all the gift bouquet and subscription orders last week - here are a few of them, still looking pretty good to me! 😍💐🌸🌻

I’ve just picked the first few stems of sweet peas for the kitchen table and the scent is… insane. I truly adore them! I had a bumper crop last year. I’ve planted a few less this year but in a range of different colours and varieties. I’ll aim to keep picking them for as long as possible to keep them flowering.
