Remembrance Sunday

Today, I’m thinking of my grandfather and my dad — both proud Royal Navy men.

My grandfather served as a medical officer at sea, caring for those injured in the thick of it. He passed away in 1992, but his quiet bravery lives on.

My dad, now 100 and in a care home, was based in Malta with what’s now known as the Fleet Air Arm. He worked on the airfield maintaining the delicate communications equipment on the aircraft — often damaged on landing thanks to a bumpy runway!

I’ll be thinking of them both today, and of all those who served with courage, compassion, and dedication.
We remember them all. ❤️

The photo is of just part of the Remembrance Day installation at dad’s care home. I wish that I’d taken more photos as this is just a tiny part of it as it was going up and really doesn’t do it justice!

Autumn has quietly arrived at Great Betley 🍂

It’s been a little quieter here lately while I focus on family and a few behind-the-scenes projects — thank you so much for your patience and kindness. 💕

The Virginia creeper has turned the barn wall a deep red, the harvest is in, and life here is gently ticking along. I’m also busy writing my How to Plan a Blank Canvas Wedding guide, which I can’t wait to share more about soon.

For now, I’m taking things at a slower pace — but Great Betley is still here, calm as ever beneath the autumn sky. 🌿
