I received another one of those calls today β€” someone offering to save me money on my calls and broadband. I politely explained I don't use either. "Fair enough," he said, and hung up.
A small, almost funny exchange. But it points to something worth saying.
We're all under pressure from a constant stream of unsolicited calls and emails β€” offers we never asked for, problems we don't have, "savings" on things that don't apply. It's noise, and it costs us all time and focus we can't easily get back.
It's a useful reminder of how I want Handdels to operate. We don't chase people with scripts or pressure. We earn the conversation by doing the work well: getting freight where it needs to be, on time, handled properly, every time. Trust is built on delivery, not interruption.
To the clients and partners who value that approach β€” thank you. It's the kind of business worth doing.

That's what one missed strap can cost an event logistics company in 2026.
DVSA enforcement on insecure loads has hit a level I've never seen in 20+ years in this industry. And our European counterparts β€” particularly the Germans β€” are even tougher.
Here's what's actually happening at the roadside:
β†’ DVSA conducted 15,000+ load security checks last year
β†’ Company fines now reach Β£20,000 per prosecution
β†’ German penalties go up to €40,000 for corporate liability
β†’ Vehicle prohibition notices = immediate impoundment, Β£20-Β£50/day storage
β†’ TÜV inspectors are scrutinising every UK-plated truck crossing into Germany
And event vehicles are sitting ducks. Why?

Teddy McHanddels bids farewell to Washington and pays tribute to all officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
National Police Week 2026 brought the nation together in solemn remembrance. In 2025, 111 officers lost their lives in the line of duty β€” the lowest number recorded in 80 years and a 25% decrease from the previous year. While every life lost is one too many, this milestone reflects the courage, training, and dedication of law enforcement communities across America.
We honour those 111 heroes, their families, and the 363 names newly etched into the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial β€” a permanent reminder that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
We remember. We honour. We are grateful.
